Finally got 4" front springs, 4" rear block. 4" extended shocks. Only problem im having is the u bolts i bought from a friend are u shaped and not the factory square u bolt. Not only to mention they are not long enough to go over the block and the CUCV springs. What have any of you done in...
I hope its not that big junction block plug at the firewall underneath the master cylinder, ill need a sandblaster to
clean the gunk of of it to see the wires.
Thats what im going to do, order rebuild kits tonight. Then go over the wiring diagram for the charging system and rewire everything related. Just looking at it now some wires dont go to where they should and there are one or two thick wires just cut and going no where coming out of main wiring...
Not to hijack this thread but ive been having charging issues for a year now since i bought it hence why i can only drive it when i charge the batteries. I did the warthog test listed above and Im getting 24v at GEN 2 red wire but on the BROWN wire 0 with key on or off. GEN 1 is 0 on both wires...
Im doing the turbo and 700R4 as we speak. Im copying a friend of mine who has the ambulance body and his truck pulls hard, gets good mileage, and will do 70-75 all day long. Why not both?
Finally going to turbo this bad boy. I got a GM 4 from a 95 6.5L and all its related parts. Being its a stock motor i know to go no more than 10psi and no more than 1000F egt (atleast what im told). I searched the forums tonight on peoples conversions but im still stuck on some things. What...
Im looking at a stock 6.5 turbo setup this week. Im guessing with a 700r4, 35"s and a turbo i should have everything i need. GV unit is just way to much right now
I love my M1008.. i look forward to taking it to work everyday. Only problem is i work 25minutes away and its 90% highway. I can do 55 all day long but its just still to unstreetable. I plan on working a lot of extra overtime soon so have money to make this truck a true daily driver which...
I have a M1008 that im currently working on and its an electrical mess with the alternators thats im trying to figure out, but on a side note i seen 3 today and was wondering if its anybody from here? They clearly were not trucks from a base either and the people that were driving them were in...
Gonna check that all tonight, from the brief look at the schematic whover had this before me really hacked up some stuff. Im hoping considering a lot of wires go to nowhere that most likely my alts are good and obviously are just not wired right.
That would be great. Theres just wires going everywhere and i found out i bought the wrong alternators to begin with.. Regardless i will rebuild the old ones since im trying to get this truck in tip top shape as it will be my daily driver but i need to see correct wiring so i know what im...
Well the CUCV M1008 i have is finally legal. Now i need to get the charging system correct. I bought 2 new batteries for it however the truck will be dead after its started(alternators and or wiring). The problem is the truck is an electrical mess going to the alternators. I have a big red...
investigated more and found out the right front turn signal does work, black wire going to the socket was bad. Replaced it and have front turn signals but no rear right turn signal.
I have a 1986 m1008 CUCV. Truck has turn signals on the driver side front to back however on the RIGHT side i have no marker or front turn signal light, i do have the rear reverse and brake light but no turn signal. Basically turn signals are inop on the passenger side. I changed all the bulbs...
My 6.2 with 3.5" true dual exhaust with no mufflers exiting before the rear tires is defning loud... Really pisses off neighbors and basically anybody near it.. I love it but it can be a pain in the ass.
First post here (love the site!) and i recently bought a M1008. I know this truck has 4:56 in the rear. This truck will see highway driving about 20-30miles round trip everyday. Do i need to worry about anything considering it is a diesel and the rpms are going to be high around 55mph...
