I have new military batteries so there is no need for me to buy the adapter tray but I did buy and install a plastic battery box---nice mod. I couldn't find the lockable handles at the trailer website so I am contacting a sales rep. Would the door handles fit on my M51A2? Soon I will be...

I was looking for something a bit more military. I made a soap box derby car when I was 10 it had this type of steering wheel on it, found the wheel in the trash dump. What is a 6tl adapter tray and where can I get locking door handles?
I believe that you are correct unless I can find a steering wheel with a smaller diameter than 20".
I have sent an appeal to gringeltaube. He is offline at the moment but I noticed that he is still active. He was online earlier today.
Thank you for your timely advise.
Didn't mean to disrespect...
I have an M51A2 and am having trouble driving it. I'm a big guy and when I drive it the steering wheel presses into my gut and makes it very uncomfortable. Has anyone done any steering wheel modifications to eliminate this problem? I've spent many hours getting this gut and it would be ashamed...
Me too Randy
Very cool set up. It's good to know that I will have many more surprises in the future concerning types of military vehicles out there to be bought and seen. Knowing all is no fun if you like surprises... and I like (good) surprises. Hey how about that HEMTT on e-bay if I had a...
I am looking at Standard Catalog of US Military Vehicles-- 2nd Edition in the Low Bed chapter. I can't find a low-bed trailer with three rear axles. Most have two axles and one has four axles. Perhaps it is a civy low bed.
I'm looking for a plastic battery box to fit in my M51A2 dump. This battery box holds 2 military grade batteries and slides under and to the rear of the passenger door.
Bought one from Randy Emr.
I agree with you as well wreckerman. The reason that these vehicles were built was to preserve freedom. The freedom to choose if you will bobb your truck is entirely up to you and the right to express ones opinion is also protected under the Constitution. I see no reason for quarrel. We all...
Okay, thanks I get it. It is a look that you are going for and not necessarily performance. Personally I like the original form. I bought my truck specifically for the 6x6 capability. If I wanted a kick-ass 4x4 I probably would have went with a Unimog. Just my opinion. I don't want to offend...
Can anyone tell what bobbing actually means? Where did the word come from? I think it has to do with adding larger tires and wheels and going from duallys to singles on the rear. Are you shortening the vehicles as well. This probably sounds like a stupid question to you guys but I've only owned...
So far both fuel tanks are intact and have no leaks. This sounds like a typical problem based on the threads that I have been reading. Perhaps they should make Plastic fuel tanks as well. Many new cars have plastic tanks.
Thanks for asking.
Randy, something is troubling me. My metal box holds two military batteries are the plastic boxes the same dimensions as my metal box? Why would I need two plastic boxes if I am only replacing one metal box?
