The bumper is suppose to be like that with a winch installed on a 2.5ton deuce, that's why there is a notch in the bumper so that the cable from the winch won't bind on the bumper (for anyone who didn't know). I know that the 5tons usually have the bumper left the other way around because of the...
I was looking for the same type of water heater for my deuce camper. I was about to buy that one, but then I realized that it could only be used outside because of the way it was vented (the entire top of the unit is used for venting). I wanted my heater to be inside my camper. I ended up buying...
If you look at the top of the secondary fuel filter assembly it has "Primary" and "Final" written on the top. In other words one is a "Primary-Secondary Filter" and the other one is a "Final-Secondary Filter". People should just refer to them as secondary filter 1 and secondary filter 2 as it...
No one just sells a plow kit made for a deuce. You have to either make your own, or pull one off an existing truck that has one which would fit.
Would just be cheaper and less trouble to buy a truck with one installed. Eastern surplus has two for sale:
2.5 Ton version...
The coolant kit is a nice addition to any military truck. I installed one on my M109 last weekend. Other than the filter, the kit is complete with all you need. Took only 20 minutes to install.
Great work there. Would love to see pictures of the trailer attached when you get around to it. I was looking at hauling a gooseneck with one of our deuces, so this give me lots of great ideas how to do it ;)
I would concur with SasquatchSanta. Deuces kick butt, even in cold weather :-D
I run mine in -10F temps regularly. Only problem I have is that I am missing the duct system under the dash of two of my deuces, so I have to let the trucks sit a while to defrost the windshields.
I can't get the links in the old posts working no matter what I do.
I have tried coping the link and changing the "www" to "old" but it doesn't help at all as it only dumps me at the main page for the old site.
In other words changing:
To...
Glad to hear someone else has gotten a hold of some MLVW's. We will have to start our own MLWV club soon enough :D
I hope to work on mine during the christmas holiday. I have to install some parts that were missing on mine as well.
Can't wait to see some pictures.
Thanks for posting it.
I would be interested in it, but it looks as if it needs a good amount of work and that it has been sitting for a while. At $5K it isn't a ridiculous price, but it is still a good amount of money for something in that shape and distance away. I tend to stay away from any...
Congrats on the purchase! It is always an adventure picking one up ;)
BTW, there are lights in the instrument panel, but you have to turn them on so that they work. They do not turn on automatically with the head lights. It is the left, bottom switch on the light switch assembly. Not sure if...
