I made a heat shield for GEN 2 today, ran some errands, and drove home and no flickering charge light. I.R. temp gun reads 145 degrees case temp on GEN 2 at idle, and 325 degrees on the turbine housing at idle. Maybe this will do it some good.

Well, I found a nice M1028 that was quite literally in my backyard! Very well taken care of, lots of great work went into it, and the fact that i didn't have to travel hardly anywhere to bring her home made for a great deal. Can't wait to dig into it!
