My dad drove a deuce in Korea and I remember him mentioning tire chains that wrapped both sets of duels on each axle, kinda making the deuce a half track. Has anyone else ever heard of such a thing?
has anyone ever cut out and changed the centers on the HMMWV wheel? I think they would look great on there but it seems like it would require difficult mods to fit them.
M1009 is six lug wheel, it would take some work to fit the HMMWV wheel. My understanding is the M1008 just needs a spacer in the front as it is already an 8 lug hub. Great looking rig!!
I like the idea of a dropside M1008. If you build one I'd love to see it. The M101 bed would look cool too. Build one of each and take lots of pics so I can copy the one I like best:grin:
I've seen what you are referring to in commercial semi tractors...All that I have seen do not have a front differential. I'm not sure but I was under the impression that they attached to the fifth wheel at the front axle of the towed tractor. I'm not sure how that would work with a 6x6

The 700r4 is very expensive and unreliable and the th400 is less expensive and tough. I would look for a th400 for your Blazer. The last time I shopped for a 700r4 the best price I could find was $1200 for a used one. I found it more cost effective to buy another truck with a 5 speed manual to...
