Can confirm... Didn't do too much driving prior to the install but don't notice anything with them in. Except that I had one small, local, slippery pile of dirt that I struggled to get over prior to the install. Once they were in, I went back and just drove over it. No monkey business.
I...
Just realized I posted this to my camper thread and not this forum/thread:

Began a thorough investigation yesterday which effectively ended up with open heart exploratory surgery.
I started the day with checking the harness/connectors to the IAPCV (Injection Actuation Pressure Control Valve- the thing which controls the oil pressure sent to, and used by the injectors...
Mine (3126) goes to fast idle on the switch or if it's cold and has been idling for a while without being exercised. It doesn't waiver, but more ramps up to the fast idle of the switched function. Not a aggressive ramp, but not an overly casual one either. It does hold the idle speed when it...
Sorry- forgot about these questions.
Yes, I run tire beads. The small, ceramic ones from ESCO. I had anti-freeze in the fronts for a while, but I went with the beads after seeing how corroded the hardware was after checking them to see if anything had evaporated. I may not have had enough AF...
Two quick updates...
As promised, when we returned, I ripped apart the bathroom to get it set up more appropriately as a wet bath. The current toilet came out, a shower sump was installed, a raised floor with drain and plumbing built, and a new toilet enclosure started. I was working on...
1 - Are you asking bad low pressure (block) pump or bad HEUI pump? I can confirm that my block oil pump was consistently giving me good pressure at the dash gauge- 60's at start up, high 30's or low 40's underway when warm. I assume you're talking about the HEUI pump though, so yeah, definite...
Can confirm you'll definitely want shrubbery protection up high if you even get the slightest bit adventurous.
I read the same warnings about the mini splits and intend to thoroughly shield mine when (finally) installed.
This doesn't want to go down without a fight.
I started the rig again yesterday morning and it sounded and ran like someone dumped a box of rocks in the crankcase- like it did with the "bad" IAPCV. I didn't have time to monkey with it so I put it on the list of things to do today.
I started...
Tying all my recent experiences together on the build thread...
We went to UT & AZ for a lovely trip:

We had an issue...
Funny you mention this... They are the identical parts. Found this out from the CAT guy I chatted with in UT. Same unit as in the DT466 Navistar motor.
Well, it's one of those times where the troubleshooting process makes sense- the pressure wasn't being properly controlled, so I replaced the valve which controls it and BINGO- all back in spec!!!!

This is the CAT ET diagnostic test for the injection...
A little footage from House Rock Valley Road:
Not very dramatic and full disclosure, plenty of rental cars go up and down this road, but they don't get to sleep in a king size bed on the trail.
Anyone have any experience with this?
I have a 2000 M1088A1. The CEL light came on the other day and with CAT ET hooked up, it showed code 164-11 and/or 164-2. Looking them up reveals a somewhat generic trigger of mismatch between desired and actual injection activation pressure on the HEUI...
