While I don't have a M1009 I do have a M1028 w/a blizzard plow setup and I do lose clearance and the approach angle is greatly reduced with the truckside plow bracket on the truck. I don't use the truck offroad (other than collecting firewood) as I have a Unimog 404 for offroad adventures. I...
I need someone to preview several items for me in Atlanta. The preview dates are the 3-31 and 4-1. Let me know if you can help. PM me for more info.
Thank you in advance.
-45-50 mph is top speed unless you're going down a hill with a tailwind. Slightly kidding but 45-50 is the speed that they are happiest at.
-Other than swapping engines for the M-130 or a diesel the only performance upgrade is a head swap which I have read has just ok results as far as money...
I wish they did... Here is my correspondence with them:
Simon,
I am wondering if you could tell me what manufacturer/model winch is in the picture on the front of the SEE FLU-419? Do you have any for sale? If not do you know where I could source one?
Thank you in advance,
Chris...
Still curious why you chose a 404?
It looks pretty good from the pics. No oil leaks from the engine, transmission or axles. It is missing a few miscellaneous parts however but they might be separate or you could purchase them from a vendor. I personally wouldn't pay 10k for it however in the...
First question is what do you want to do with the 404? Why a 404 and not a different model?
Pics are worth a 1000 words.... Seriously tho post up some pics it will help some of us who are more familiar with the 404 give you an opinion on it.
I personally wouldn't take anyone's word on...
No the Unimog pictured isn't mine or my friends so I don't know what it is parked on. It was a picture I found online and he wants a winch like the one pictured for the front of his SEE FLU-419.
Yes it is for the Mercedes Benz Unimog SEE FLU-419. While I am not an expert this is the only example that I've seen of a winch on the front of a 419 (that looks stock). I don't actually own one but I was trying to get an answer for a friend of mine.
UPDATE:
Scott from expedition imports responded to the same thread on another forum and advised me: "Did you pull the cylinder head bolts INSIDE the chain tensioner galley? You may have to move the tensioner arm to get at one of them. There should be a total of 4 "small" bolts at the front of...
So my engine wasn't running very well so I decided to pull a couple of spark plugs to check them and make sure they weren't fouled out. Once I got the plugs out I noticed that they had antifreeze on them. So I figure that either the head has a crack/hole in it or there is a problem with the...
Does anyone know the specifics for the winch on the SEE FLU-419 that is pictured below?
Who makes it? Capacity? NSN number for it? Where I can purchase one?
Thank you in advance.
