Wow it's been a long time since I've been on here. Been driving my 1008 for 10 years with absolutely no major trouble. The other day I noticed that one of the leaves in the back spring is broken in two places. The truck has in had an ORD lift in it for many years but uses the factory rear...
I need to replace the alternator fusible Links at the dimond shaped firewall block. They are blue. I've gone through a few searches but I'm just trying to verify that they are 12 gauge links. Having a very hard time finding that size anywhere around town. Thanks.
I'm finally getting around to adding the zero rares and u bolt flip to the back of my truck. It has the ord shackle flip lift on it now and the axle needs to be moved back. While I have it apart I want to remove a couple leafs from the rear springs for a better ride both on and off road. Any advice?
Having fun trying to figure out where to move my #2 battery now that the turbo infringes on it's space. Wouldn't be a big deal if I were using standard size batteries but I have the big 6T batteries. Anyone have any suggestions?
Was just outside getting ready to swap the driver's side exhaust manifold for the one from the 6.5 donor and it looks like there may me an interference issue with the oil cooler lines? Am I going to be able to use the 6.5 manifold on the left side?
Thought I'd start a new thread since I've actually started on this and I'm making good headway. There are some other threads on the installation that I've found very useful and helpful. Maybe I can add some small insight to anyone else thinking about adding a turbo. It's pretty straightforward...
Just won a cool matching pair of Autometer Cobalt gauges on eBay, boost and pyrometer. They are used and the pyrometer is missing the exhaust manifold fitting because he left it in his HD when he sold it. The probe is 90 degree shaped and has no threads. Any idea how this mounts to the exhaust...
For quite awhile I have not had much interest in doing this since kits run up around $3000. After reading some of the posts around here and looking at used stuff I have become more interested in adding a factory turbo from a 6.5. It also seems that piecing individual parts together may be a...
Did a search and could not find anything on this particular problem. Charging system was working great until one morning I noticed the Gen 2 lamp was burned out. Replaced the bulb and socket and lamp stayed on while running and Gen 2 was not charging. Lamp would go off after about a mile of...
I've never had any issues with my truck or the starting until the glow plug resistor bypass mod yesterday. the truck was starting fine but has 1 bad glow plug on the right bank so I did the modification so I can nurse the other glow plugs along. now the wait light stays on longer and it is on...
Not sure if I have a charging issue or not. The Gen 2 lamp has NEVER illuminated on my truck, even during the initial key on/ engine off test sequence. Truck always starts and runs fine, but lately the volt gauge doesn't quite make it into the green zone. Worked this way even after rebuilding my...
Just finished mounting my brand new 37" Wrangler MTs onto a set of H1 12 bolts. (Thanks TedG) I put in a set of PVC double beadlocks from Trailworthy Fab. Great experience dealing with them. I've read several places on the internet how hard they are to get inside the tires. I thought it was...
Let's see 'em!
Here's my $40 4 color camo job. Eventually I want to have the truck sprayed a solid drab, but I had to do something. My truck looked like a practice truck for military paint.
Anyone else have issues with the block end of the ORD rear brake hose leaking? All of my brake lines and bleeders loosened easily during replacement and it was an easy job but I can't seem to stop the fluid leak where the rear axle lines hook into the rear hose block at the bracket on the diff...
Before jumping on me, I did a search but didn't find the answer.
I've installed 4" springs and zero rates in the front, moving the axle forward 1". Any ideas on how much I'll need to add to the front drive shaft length?
Anyone running their 6.2's without mufflers? I have to rearrange my exhaust due to the shackle flip lift and was weighing the options. I've heard uncorking the diesels makes them run quite a bit better but I am new to the fuel oil burners other than in my Kubota.
There are plenty of lift threads but I have found something from several different threads that helped me get ready for mine. Installing the ORD 4" lift with rear shackle flip. Seems to be the norm around here but I'm not sure how I feel about the setup just yet. I can already see that I am...
