According to the parts manual, the unit is considered an H13 (basic unit). The manual shows a 12447125/2520014092512, but only if kit 57K3498 is installed. How do you know if it is installed?, and what is the part number if it isn't installed?
Looks like there are (2) types that it could...
Was just wondering, the wheels on the Humvee have this metal tube like structure mounted to the rim. In the manual/videos I saw, you could put a piece of rebar (or bar) through this tube, and wind a tow rope around this. The principal is that as the wheels turn, it will reel the rope and winch...
close, I was actually on my property in Jackson, Gdam swampy in some parts.
Also, found out why the front wheels were not turning...blew the u joint on the front drive shaft was just whipping around knocking the piss out of the transfer case..which is now leaking.
oh, it was definitely operator error (my stupid ass). Had to get a local towing company with a dual winch to finally get me out. In the process, his truck got stuck in the soft mud, felt so bad for the guy, truck was brand new. But HUMVEE is FREE!. Unfortunately, got some clanking noise...
well, the N is really close to the L, hence the mention of the NL. Looked like the same, but it was in L. Just re-RTFM, and watched the video (again), as mentioned. Looks like I was doing everything correct. But this Bitch is stuck! Good thing these units were invented after "Nam". Lots...
Please forgive me for my inexperience with this monster. NL is the when you pull back the transfer case lever all the way back= it is in low. It does not have a winch, so, no help there. Thought I was doing the brake gas modulation, based on what I read and saw, but evidently would have...
Mud half way up the wheels. Aren't these supposed to be full time 4WD? Rear wheels spin, front ones....no. Truck is in NL, front wheels not moving.
BTW, what kind of company do you call to get you unstuck from a mud bog?
Yeah, I am not a big fan of the Walmart's either, but they do work. The truck is an "around towner" so getting stuck isn't really the issue. The Walmart's only last a couple of years. Was looking to se if there were less maintenance ones without breaking the bank. The X2's look interesting.
Looking for replacement batteries for my M998. It currently has the Walmart Maxx 34 series installed. Trying to avoid the 6TL's I see that Deka has an interesting deep cycle marine battery at 800 CCAs. It is about 1.5 inches taller and 2.25 wider. Or should I just stay with the Walmarts?
Thanks again?? I did change out all the incandescents with LED's when I first got the truck. There is a definite clunk when depressing the pedal. The clunk would be the switch being engaged. It is lower than it should be (to the point of locking up the brakes in order to activate the...
Ok, so decided to try again. This time mashed the gas pedal before starting. Started it up and went right into reverse. Drove it around. Trans shifted nice, no problem at all. Made it kickdown, multiple times, no problem.
Maybe something to do with the kickdown?
It is a 1993/1994 M998 with a 3L80 trans that will not shift into any gear. It used to sometimes take a minute after start up to shift, now it does not go into any gear at all. Almost felt like it had to build up pressure or vacuum when first started.
Fluid is a pretty pink, no leaks...
