Thanks for all the info guys. One reason I want to check is the truck has a noticeably larger turning radius turning one way vs the other... Has anyone else noticed the same?
-now I just have to figure out how to jack this sucker up... You know... My backs not quite what it used to be....:)
Hello,
What's a good way to verify wether or not am M923A2 has lockers? I don't think mine does, however the turn radius seems quite a bit larger than other M923's I've driven.
Thanks!
So I tightened the gov springs 4 clicks and backed out the top fuel screw 3.5 revs.... my truck now idles at 1070 rpm instead of 500... is that about what the rest of you are getting?
Thanks!
As far as fuel mileage in the 5-ton goes: I think a lot of the earlier mentioned figures are accurate for the 800 series and the 900/900a1 series, however the 900a2 get's noticeably better mileage. I generally get around 10-11 MPG in my 923a2, and got better than 8mpg towing a trailer w/10k...
Wow! -An LMTV for $5k? Thats Awesome! Congratulations! I haven't even heard of even a parts only LMTV going to that low. The nozzle in the turret idea sounds good... would love to see pics eventually when you get it done.
Thanks for the replies / advise. I have checked the tires, they are in very good condition (practically new). -This has only happened twice and I have aired them up by hand the next day at the latest. The lowest pressure driven on was 35 psi.
Ok, so I aired up all 6 tires to 80 PSI so I could...
Thanks for the detailed instructions in case I have to go that route.
The CTIS was working fine prior to this, which makes me think it is likely only one component that needs to be identified and repaired / replaced. SUPRMAN, thanks for the suggestion, I will check that first.
Yes, a front flip. Keep in mind I’m referencing the 4x4 LMTV, not the 6x6 FMTVs. I have seen 3 of the rolled vehicles myself. It was a problem out at YTC which mandated that at least for a while, only humvee's were allowed to be used for brush fire trucks and medevac. One of the LMTV's that...
Hello,
The LMTV is a good truck in general, with some strong points and some draw backs. I would recommend against it and towards a M939 series for fire work though. For one, like the earily ears of any automobile, the earily years of the LMTV were not reliable ones. (and that is more likely...
Hello,
I'm experiencing some difficulty with my CT!S system (M923A2)... What would cause/allow all 6 tires to deflate when CT!S is supposed to be inflating? Such as today, The tires where all above 50, still had 5 flashing lights from last time I drove it (That and today are only times I've had...
Where did you get you CARC from? -I've been having a little dificulty finding someone with it in stock, or getting them to call me back. I'm looking for Sand, which it seems noone has... I may havve to switch to Tan.
Thanks!
