I found an AN/GRC-46 shelter in great condition and a nearly complete radio set to put in it. The shelter appears never to have had anything mounted inside. I found the manuals and some other details from various sites, but I thought I'd enlist the help of some pros. I'm not a radio pro by an...
Oh yeah, believe me, I know what all goes in one. Mine is complete inside also. I actually provided strap details to Beachwood for their details (could not find them in ANY ords. Eventually, over time, I found all of them and made templates. I have most of the items needed to complete the...
Haven't check in for some time - nice to see your progress. I had all of the same issues regarding the roof, rust, leakage. Big problem with the roof seam. Took the advice of a heavy truck mechanic. Ground out the seam to bare metal, sealed with primer and used 3M 8423 epoxy bonding material...
Regarding the interior color of the rear compartment - mine was also green when I got it. It was obvious though that the green was not done by the military. We did a test strip and found white underneath. During my research, I found photos of ambulances that had green or white and have not been...
Congratulations! VERY nice truck. I Just finished restoring one - here's some photos to show what you can look forward to. If you need ANY help, info or parts. PLEASE feel free to contact me. It's a GREAT truck, fun to drive and a real show-stopper.

I removed the back pad from my spring seat which worked great, but I wanted a little more room, so I shorted the steering column 3-1/2". It only took about 2 hours to do.
Removed the wheel
Cut the outer sleeve with a side cutter and slid it off the steering shaft
Cut the shaft, then shortened...
Still debating.... the responses have been VERY helpful though - So THANKS TO ALL OF YOU! My 1944 WC52 arrived from California yesterday and I'm even more anxious to come up with the right combo to pull it with the Deuce. I go to a lot of shows and events within a 2-3 hour drive - and want to...
I just posted a thread asking about how the XM1061E1 trailer would work for hauling a 1944WC52 (5500lbs.) behind my deuce. Seeing you photos gives me hope. I want to use the trailer to pull my WC to shows, etc., but was wondering how it would handle behind the deuce. Can you share your thoughts...
I'm thinking of purchasing an XM1061E1 trailer and using it to haul another vehicle behind my deuce. (See photos below). The trailer is rated for a 10K load and the vehicle I'm thinking of towing weighs 5500 lbs.
I have a set of ramps that will work perfectly, want some other opinions before I...
I think a lot of guys would be up for it. We (NICMVPA) talked about a combined chapter event near Rochelle, IL next year. There's a huge event in Rockford every year, and a couple in Indiana. Several of us think there's room for other event in Illinois. Should we add to existing events or create...
I know it's November, and I'm hitting this thread REALLY late, but I too am an Illinois MVP'er.
Finding LOTS of great guys from Illinois, Iowa and Indiana at events all summer and would really like to see an Illinois Rally. I have a 71 Deuce with 105 Trailer, a 1954 M43 Ambulance and just...
Don't know if you're still having the problem with room in the M35A2, but although I'm in the process of losing weight, I still need (wanted) more room. We just succesfully completed to modifications that have made ALL the difference in the world. Halleluia!!
We modified the box seat to raise...
Making room in the M35a2
I'm working on the same problem. I need A LOT of room. So far, I've taken a box seat and modified the seat back - angling it to 90 degrees - this allowed me to move it back another 4 inches. It's still comfortable. We're also raising it 1-1/2" inches. Next step is we're...
I'm having the same 'fitting' problem. I was also wondering about the suggestion of 'raising' the steering and couldn't really see what was done in the photos. Can you provide more clarification PLEASE.
I've moved the seat back and installing a smaller wheel, but I'd like to raise the wheel...
