Hey Mike, Nice rim plates, they look virtually bulletproof.
I think others here who have not had a hemmt rim apart dont realize that the outer half of the rim fits OVER thin inner half for about an inch and a half of overlap. therefore the Hemmt studs are under tension load with very little...
I am South of Pittsburgh. Mine is registered for 18000 GVW with truck tags. (not antique or classic). I added mine to my existing Travelers insurance policy without a problem. Not sure if they really know what the truck is though.
Thanks for the good ideas in this tread guys. I am working on shortening my heater box and installing it under the glove box also. I will post up some pics soon.
Beadlocks would be nice, but I think one piece units made out of PVC would be extremely difficult to install in the tires. those bead seats and sidewalls are STIFF! I think the HEMMT ones are two piece so each half can be placed in the tire, then be bolted together to form a single unit.
I am also running modded HEMMT wheels w' 395 Michelins. I mounted mine up tubeless. (probably one of the biggest advantages of this setup). I did mine on a warm day. sprayed a little silicone spay on the o-ring, assembled the wheels and aired them up without a problem. They have been holding...
Welcome to the super single club. I think the HEMMT wheels and 15.5s totally transform the truck.
What kind of tire pressures have you been running? I found the XMLs do well around 30-35 psi
50 tends to bounce a lot on rough roads. Havent used them off road much yet.
Matt,
I'm sorry to hear about the loss of your father.
Glad to hear you were representing at the parade. Your truck looks great!
My wife was trying to get something going with the CalU chemistry club, where we would tow their float or be the banner truck. But, it didn't get worked out in...
Avengeusa, do you have the deuce pattern center sandwiched in between the inner and outer rim halves? (it looks like in the picture) If so? how did you get the o-ring between the two rim halves to seal?
I also have hemmt rims on my deuce but, I ended up welding the deuce center into the...
Thanks for the responses. I'm going to try the 50 /30 and see how it drives.
BigCASE - I love the picture of your Deuce on the rocks....can't wait to get mine off-road with the new setup:-D
I just finished re-centering a set of HEMMT wheels to fit my deuce. Got them all painted up and 395 XMLs installed.
For those of you who have a similar setup, what tire pressure are you guys running?
I set mine at 40 psi and took it for a ride. it seems fine but i was thinking about running...
