Hey, that looks great.
Good spot, out of the way, fits perfectly, wiring was easier too I imagine.
Personally, I think the two original locations are a tad bit slow in the head.
I love mounting critical cluster gauges four feet away and at a point where you have to lean and tilt your head away...
I am not an expert by any means but, I upgraded from a 60 to 200 dual alt and I dont hear anything.
Then again, I am not a mechanic. As long as you are getting a charge and its not grinding or sparking, I think you are good.
I made my own hardtop out of sheet steel.
8g steel, extended to the wagon style rear end as I heard slant backs pretty much kill any cargo room or accessibility and leak like crazy.
I sold the tail gate and built a 50x34 inch rear door, i mounted a big tool box on the passenger side wheel well...
Mine does the same thing, I was afraid my batteries were weak or the alternator was acting up.
I dug around here and finally found the same answer but, I am glad you asked just as reinforcement for my peace of mind.
My buddy and I changed all four half axles from original 7k to 10k.
We changed the original alternator to the 24-12v 200amp alternator upgrade.
I made a deep water fording snorkel for like $11 and a grille guard mimicking the USMC style but not as long or bulky.
I made the exhaust half...
The biggest thing at least for me and other straight up hogs was not pushing the stuff we did not know. How in the **** would I know what the legal requirements are for a 90cc moped traveling on the roadway? The majority of our calls revolve around a handful of laws and local ords. If you use...
Absolutely right it was a smartass answer. I said it with a cheerful smirk as a joke he just did not take it as a joke. At that point it was by the book and worked out fine.
I used to work for a neighboring agency and I am generally well known in my area. I am that guy that built a shipping...
I worked in law enforcement for years and I knew better than to give the cop a smart answer.
After he started digging in, it was strike after strike for him and his ego took over. He wanted to pinch me.
Once, he realized it was up to par (minus the reverse light and speed) he calmed and moved...
First, let me give you some background.
My M998 currently, does not have doors, a cargo cover, reverse light or plates.
I was running errands and was stopped for exceeding the speed limit (41/35).
The deputy walked up and introduced himself politely and immediately asked for an admission of...
Is there a happy mix?
Does upgrading headlights to LED cross the line or what exactly does?
I know the majority of us cant garage our trucks for three years ripping it down to the frame to do a complete restore.
Just curious as to what is the line between the two.
Personally, I put a good bit...
Haha, Lt hatched into a full bird colonel. Yes, you are right. Lts use oaks and the sub gens are birds. Maybe, if I put it back it would earn its star in a decade or two.
My truck came from a private owner that cleaned it out and by cleaning it out he power washed the interior and found nothing but, spent blank cases. When, I started digging in and doing a proper interior refurb, I found more blank cases, a bunch of spent .45acp cases and a crushed Lt. Col...
I just took mine off today and didnt see your question until now. A day late and a dollar short, sorry.
The bows are one inch tubing, easy enough to bend by hand. Add heat or find a fence post and start pulling.
For better results fill with sand it helps to avoid crimping and deformation...
Replacing the alternator today and it has been a beast. Power steering unit had to come off, broke a bolt, upgrade 200amp alternator adapter kit didnt include long base mounting bolt or pulley shaft bolt. Going to finish it tonight if it kills us, any suggestions or areas of concern for wiring...
I am selling my soft doors on ebay right now. All four doors and all hardware included for 400 buy now or 300 auction. Classic woodland camo pattern all that jazz. Auction ends sunday early evening. Check it out.
All I did was buy a 3" exhaust clamp, tighten it, welded a 6 inch piece of left over steel to it, cut it bend it to a basic L bracket, drilled and riveted. I think it was 1/4th thick so easy enough to work with. I know it is against the holy order or buying everything for HMMWVs but, so far I...
