It's my farm truck and spare when the Silverado is broken. I plan to lift it. But for now I needed a little better cruise speed for my 22 mile each way commute to work on the days my POS other truck is apart.
I just don't have the money to lift it yet. I had the extra cheaper fenders to cut...
Thinking about fixing that little plastic tab that broke off the instrument cluster which holds the gear shift indicator cable .
But here in NY truck is covered in 30 inches of snow and the garage has a tractor in it with no hydraulics.
Lucky for me this fender cutting didn't cost me anything but time.
At this point I only have one front fender cut. Which was a junkyard fender so I can go back to the OEM fenders.
Not gonna lie it was a lot of cutting, figuring and then cutting and rewelding.
But, I'm glad you brought this...
Ok, now to figure out the speedometer.
i contacted PATC.
i guess i need to find out what drive gear my speedometer is.
anyone been here already and or can find a link to this on SS?
maybe call the place on ebay that sells the cucv starters for 86 bucks. Just an idea.

For right now this is my way around spending the money on springs. I do believe the truck should get news springs. But i want to do the 4l80e swap next. That will make it drivable then i wouldn't feel bad about spending the $$$ to make it comfortable to drive.
So this turned into a huge project. I chassis saved the rear frame, bottom of the texas box i had and bed lined the inside. I got one front fender cut down and installed but forgot to take a picture last night.
Congrats on the new CUCV. I laughed at your passenger door. Both of my pickups have the same dent! Let me tell you i wish i had 4.10 gears some days. I'm in the middle of a 37" tire swap
I ended up cutting the front fenders and welding them up. The air nibbler worked very well for this. Sense then i removed the box and have started sand blasting the frame with the high pressure washer attachment of ebay. So far so good. I purchased Chassis saver paint and did a little test...
