Getting ready to take the drive shaft to the shop for lengthening. Can anyone tell me by the pics if this is the correct way to measure the added length I will need. Or is there some special way to do it. Any information would be appreciated.
My truck started out as a m109, but when I got it the box was already taken off. I think you have figured it out the plates must be there to protect the box and frame from improper wear.
Thank for the info.

Weather cleared up but only got hangers and leaf springs in place. Started getting rear axle cleaned up, hope to paint it this week. I removed the fuel tank so I could put another bed mount bracket on. What do you all think about six instead of four bed mount brackets? is it necessary. Know...
Some progress this week had a half of day before it started raining. Painted air tanks and brackets and some other parts here are a couple of picks. I used the green color code from the SS thread on acrylic paints from HD the color is great match. I hope weather clears up this week so I can...
A little progress this weekend, every time I take something off I feel it should be cleaned and painted. Had to make a few bracket/spacers in the rear to help level out the bolt pattern, my last hole drilled for the back hanger fell between the cross support and frame.
Here are couple of pics.

Little progress over the weekend. cut frame started drilling for hangers. I may just Finnish putting the back end of frame together and start painting this next week. I had to take out the air tanks and may drop fuel tank to coat every thing with fresh paint.
Here are some pics of the little...
Thanks guys,
I will head out to the steel shop next week and pick up some 6''X2''X .188''. I like the idea of just welding it to the bed, the only question I have is the piece of wood to use. My truck came from GL with no bed. So there was no wood, is there a certain type of hardwood and a...
RedbeardTheZombieHunter;
Do you know what material to use to lift it 6 inches. What I am asking is there a certain type of
material that is more safe than others, medial tubing, spacers, bushings ?
I don't know if anyone has used this method to remove rivets but if not it works great . I call it the rotor hammer technique. It will pop the rivets right out.
