Doesn't look like actual metal to metal contact. I wouldn't think the valves would contact the pistons even if the lifters pumped up all the way. In fact I would expect the lifters to pump up all the way normally but with proper oil and pressure they would have some give. I have been looking...
No, just cut a shallow slit in the crimped collers and peel the metal away.
I used 1/8" and 1/4" Gates brand fuel hose from O'Reilly Auto Parts on mine. They have some nice fuel injection clamps for the injector hose but spring clamps should work fine.
I stuck some Walmart Value Power batteries in mine and they are working fine. I found the number 26 batteries fit in without hitting the unused mount tab on the block.
My thermostat looked like new so I reused it and haven't had a problem. My radiator fins were full of dirt and I washed it out...
That is interesting.
In the automotive world a pegged oil pressure gauge could indicate a stuck oil pressure relief valve. Haven't looked to see if the 803 has one but most positive displacement pumps require some method of regulation.
A little off topic but could someone measure their 803A dipstick and tell me how long from the base to the tip and the full marks? Mine measures high with the prescribed amount of oil in it and I'm wondering if it has the correct dipstick.
Never noticed that SOLD tab. Holy Smokes!!!
Also looks like GP now has ALL the MEPs. Use to they just had the trailered units and GL had the skids.
All I can say is I'm glad I got mine when I did. Some of those are going for over the price of a BRAND NEW Perkins Diesel Generator with modern...
I considered this for like uh 2 minutes. Didn't take long to realize the 803 is not a good candidate and to make it work would be cost prohibited if even possible.
If you absolutely HAVE to have these features you might as well finance a whole house propane unit.
Not sure if anyone has done this before but the issue of noise levels comes up from time to time. I was doing my monthly load test and run so I thought I would record some decibel levels and share.

I winched mine out of my pickup onto a wood deck trailer on some aluminum ramps. I had to put tension on the cable and pry up on the skid in increments to get it to slide down the ramps. It didn't slide easy at all. You should take great care with that much weight on wheels.
I have my unit...
I have off road diesel delivered 100 gallons at the time. It takes me 3 or 4 months to go through it with my tractor and backhoe. My supplier says all we can get is 5% bio diesel. As has already been stated the red dye is added as it's pumped and it's the same product sold for on road other than...
I don't think any electric provider allows ANYONE to pull their meters. No matter who does the work permitted or not you should call them to pull the meter, do the work, then have them put the meter back in. I've heard some electric companies will actually do the install.
That's a complicated...
