The soft tops show up from time to time on Ebay and over on Colorado K5 - Full-Size GM 4x4 Restoration and Off Road Community 's classifieds but they're not common and they command a premium. The slant ones are even rarer still.
You know...just putting this out there...but for all the ingenuity and work you guys have put into these center mounted stereos and PC speakers and inverters and blah blah blah...it's not terribly hard to put a DIN CD player in the stock location and speakers in the dash and where ever else you...
If I recall correctly the fiberglass top is a two layer design. In other words it's a bit more complex than your average fishing boat hull. Unless someone knows what they're doing they're going to end up with a big mess and needing another top. Not to mention it'd be heavy as **** too.
Not...
You might want to check and see if that company even exists anymore. Notice the webpage is dated 2006.
There have been a few companies that made soft tops for these trucks but it seems like none ever lasts long. Bestop stopped making them for the fullsizes years ago, Kayline went out of...
The problem with the LMC stereos is:
A-They aren't all that great
B-They aren't CD players
C-They're a bit high priced
Better to just cut the dash to make a DIN sized CD player fit.
I've known a few people to just paint right over it with flat paint. Worked fine for them. Heck, we have a guy on here who just rattle canned his right over the old CARC his had.
RAPCO has some flat black that looks like CARC but isn't. Cheaper and easier to deal with I'd think. None of the...
Are we talking a civilian vehicle quality paint job or just a black coat over the CARC?
The CARC is great for just painting over but as you noted the texture translates into the top coat. If you want a nice shiny, smooth, purty finish like a civilian vehicle than it's a lot more work.
Got a picture? I'm having a hard time picturing this. There's no way a CD would fit through the metal hole in the dash for the display portion of the stereo on any pre-IFS GM truck I've ever seen.
Looking for 1000 of 7.62x39mm. Should be at least, a friend of the family is a bit slow on the uptake that this sort of ammo and what fires them is getting harder to get and more expensive.
Might be looking for some 12ga buck in bulk but dunno yet. I don't really have a firm list for myself...
My buddy lives in Lexington and I SHOULD be down that weekend. No MV's unfortunately.
Anybody heard any rumors about the ammo prices? My buddy said last year it was all expensive. Wouldn't mind picking some more ammo up. Bet there will be lots of others with that idea though.
