I've got a leak at #4 injector. The return line is fine. It is coming out from the injector it's self. Can that be tightened ? or maybe a new washer if there is one ?
New shocks, recent alignment and balance, all new steering linkages, new wheel bearings and king pin bushings w/lower bearing, rotation every 3000 miles or less and i STILL end up with cupped tires !! (excessive wear on every other lug) This has happened on two different makes of tires (goodyear...
I just got done putting new glow plugs in one of my 1008's and of course the one hardest to get to was swelled up like a mushroom. I used the visegrips and after bout 30 minutes it came out. Did not break off !! It was the Wellman brand. Are they known for swelling ?
I've read through the post's reguarding soda blasting but no answer to my question. I've got a 20 gallon blaster that's been converted to use soda but how much soda should it take to do one of my 1008's. I don't want to make but one trip to the supply store and really have no idea how much soda...
Sorry guys, i know this has been hashed to death, and i've been sifting through old posts to answer my question but i haven't found an answer that hasn't had a dispute of sorts. What i need is the correct part number and correct place to order from to get the correct green carc paint. I'm having...
:doh:What's the deal with having to "RE"- LOG IN every few minutes. Am i the only one that has to do this ?? Have i got a setting applied that could be causing this ???
I've got a buddy that says that the Government had General Motors add Nickel when casting the engine blocks for the Military 6.2's inorder to increase the hardness of the block thus increasing durability. Does anyone know if this is true or not. He also said the heads and FI pump was the same...
Ive looked through this site for info and haven't had much luck yet. But what i'm needing is a set of injectors for an 85 1008. Would i be better off to take mine to the local diesel service shop and have them checked and reworked or would i be better off to buy new ones. Also, does anyone know...
1985 1008 CUCV. The left blinker indicator in the dash burns constant whenever the headlights or parking lights are on. When the headlights are off, the light goes off. Both blinkers work fine either way. The headlights and parking lights as well as all the rear lights work just fine. Any idea...
I researched old threads and all but came up short. My 85 cucv has very good power steering although when you turn the steering wheel you'll hear the sound of fluid under pressure. It's not a squeeling sound at all. More like a hissing sound. My other cucv does not do this at all. Any idea what...
I'm gonna go to an electric fuel pump for my m1008 and wondered if anyone knew what the supply pressure should be for the 6.2 ? Another cucv i have has an electric pump on it, but it was already installed before i bought it and i don't know what capacity it is or where the best place is to...
I bought another yesterday. It's an 85 model in real good condition. Needs only minor repairs but otherwise a very solid truck. http://www.steelsoldiers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=135724&stc=1&d=1249052941
