Red Seal was a trade mark name and emblem for older Continental engines. Many engines and power units had letters Red Seal on the exhaust manifold or radiator sheet metal.
Yes, thanks probably 24 fuel solenoid can change that and see it is in another harness not in the engine harness that burned.
On dash fans our M915A1 has two 12V fans. Still had a tag on one. Brand name is Maradyne, 53005-2, 484D, 3903F, 12V, then says made in chinky land oh no. :x
This has already been posted but putting it on again really helped me so far. Wiring schematics are a pain to print but I'm working now on converting the pdf page to view separate but schematics are at almost back of section 3 page 739 to 747 of TM 9-2320-283-20-3 There are M915 series...
The fan is on the dash of ours so I'll have to look or take a pic of it to post later. Our M915A1 6x4 was made in 1984 but rebuilt in 2006 just had 260 miles on it after that very nice till the engine wiring harness just burned up. I don't think it was smart of them to combine 12V and 24V...
First time after running the pipe behind the cab on our 5 ton with the 250 Cummins I put a straight chrome pipe on it but got over that fast we couldn't hear our radio or talk so a muffler went on. :deadhorse: Our 1997 A3 seems like a Cadillac to us after driving the 5 tons. We are seriously...
We have XM818 with 250 Cummins and M55A2 with Continental LDS 465 converted to fire trucks. We got rid of the under hood muffler on the XM818 running pipe behind the cab to a heavy duty regular truck muffler with extension that helped some on heat issues in summer and noise but they are both...
Yeah we just needed another 5 ton instead but later long wheel base nice ones are hard to find yet. Have late 60s 5 tons now we carry 2000 gallons on one and drag 2000 on trailer with the other. Couldn't pass up a nice 97 2 1/2 ton with 2600 miles on it at the surplus yard. After we got it...
Have seen a few parts trucks on auctions and at gov surplus yards but we haven't found a good complete one yet. Would like to find some to pull our fire department tankers with. We just got a nice M915A1 only had 260 miles on it since the last rebuild but it still has some things needs fixed...
Has anyone put the air bag type Timbren overloads on a M35A3 or A2 ? If so what kit did you use ? Been looking at some at timbren dot com they have universal kits too that might work. Hauling lots of water with it as a fire truck water is heavy.
Scott, The tanks are skid fuel unit with electric pump. We are going to use if for a brush fire truck with electric pump for now but modify it soon with a engine powered fire pump with short jumper hoses and leave the hose reels on it too.
There are 915A1 haul trucks in the truck paper for $6000 and up. Salvage ones for less of course. Municipalities and counties can get them federal surplus now for about $5000 to $8500 so most want to resell them for $9 to $10K but they have to keep them for 18 months first. We just bought a...
