Doesn't sound too bad for unlimited mileage and that coverage. Mine is $138 per 6 months for limited use. I think that it is 5000 miles per year. Not that I will ever drive it that much.
Yes, those rivets are a pain. I blew the heads off with a smoke wrench and then turned the torch and blew out some of the center of the rivet. Then, while still hot used an air hammer to push them out. Works much better when you take a little material out of the center and heat it up while doing...
I sure am glad that I don't have to do all of that down here. Hats off to you fellas up there that have to go through all of that to burn cheaper fuel. Excellent engineering.
That's a good question on the fitting material. The line that I just got for the Deuce had Brass fittings with the teflon coating. I'm not sure that I like the idea of Aluminum fittings, but I'm not a metalurgist (probably didn't even spell it correctly).
The line is 5/16", it is a standard size line with standard size fittings. There are not different size fittings on 5/16" lines. 5/16, 5/16, 5/16, 5/16, 5/16. Maybe someone will read it this time.
I just replaced the same line in my Deuce because it blew out right above the air tanks. I purchased a 6' section of 5/16 line from Advanced Auto Parts. They had a line with a teflon coating that resists rusting.
Although my Deuce is not stock, the line in question has regular fittings and can...
I was across the pit from where those pics were taken sitting in the back of my Deuce. I started a thread on Deuce hotrodding titled 'weekend in the mud' that has a video of the same Deuce going through that bounty hole.
Here are a few pics of some trucks at the 'Trucks Gone Wild' event in Perry, Fl. this past weekend. I will get some videos on youtube and post links soon.
It does not need all 8" for the tires to clear. It was the easiest to do that way for me and it never hurts to have a little more clearance when in deep water. Also it gave me more room if I wanted to put bigger rice and canes on at a later date. I have some friends with 60" tires that will bolt...
Also, unless you put some lift on it those rice and canes are going to play heck on the front fenders when it articulates. I know it doesn't articulate much, but they would be pretty close without lift.
The only problem with the rice and canes is that it isn't street legal with them on it. I really don't have any problems with the xzl's when there is a little water in the hole to help wash them out. The problem comes in when it is sticky mud, the Deuce does not have enough power to spin them...
