WOW! Drove the Deuce down this morning, had a blast, got pretty well stuck, pulled out, and back home. Looks like everyone was having a blast. A lot of very nice rigs!
I don't know about power and handleing comparison because we haven't driven each others yet. Mine had the clutch out the other day when he was over here. As for power, I don't really notice much difference after the Bob than before. I'm guessing that I took off roughly 2000lbs overall, but added...
There is a spare in the spare tire holder. It may only be a 11.00 R 20 but it is there.
And as far a 'street legal', it does have a tag and insurance as of today.(Not that it makes it totally legal but who's counting)
I don't know what the gauge is for that, but I know that the wire for lacing the ring gear and bearing caps in the diff. is .062. Not that it helps you. I just put a locker in the rear of mine and had to hunt for thick enough wire. Went to a welding shop and they cut off 10 ft. of stainless wire...
Here are some more pics. A guy came over from across town with a really nice bobed Deuce with 11.00 r 20's xl's and we put them together to get a better idea of size. Also a Jeep.
Yes, I do need a taller garage! That is the biggest that the homeowners association would let me build. I'm looking into another piece of property that I can build my 60'x100' shop on. There is never enough room.
Thanks,It is pretty big. I will take more pics in the next week or so. I am in the process of putting a new clutch in it. I will be taking it down to the Fl rally next weekend and I will get some pics of it next to stock Deuces to give you an idea of size. Here is 1 pic of my daughters civic...
If it is a 3 53 detroit the supercharger could be used on a top fuel motorcycle. I found a couple on a hard target range in Germany, brought them back to the states (only the superchargers)and a friend is using them on top fuel bikes. Not that I am suggesting canabalizing it for such...
Can't wait!!! It looks like you are going all out with this devilman. It really shows some dedication to Military vehicles and the people that admire them. Hats off to you and everyone that has helped out with this rally.
I almost got the trans out tonight before it got dark. Just have to push...
I've been told they are worth anywhere from $1400 to $2500 for the set of 7. I guess the best offer gets them. I don't need them and it would be great to recoup some on the money from the Deuce.
Thanks Off Road Fab Works, I guess I will probably go with the King. If for no other reason my truck will be painted blue  I'll give you a call when I need to order them and I will start looking to you first before I purchase anything else. I also am going to need a sway bar. I'll call...
On the front I welded a couple of straps top to bottom above the spring perches. I didn't put any cross bracing in front for oil pan clearance. In the rear I used a rear frame section that still has the origional cross braces in place. Also straped above the spring eye in front and left the...
A friend of mine has the xl's and I have the xzl's on mine. With either, we have been able to back out of everything that they won't go forward through without recovery. I had a set of the goodyears but decided not to use them with everyone telling me how bad they ride on pavement.
Everyone that I talk to says that the xzl's run the smoothest on the highway. The goodyears look like they would do great offroad, but they don't balance well. The xl's run good on the highway and do great offroad, but I don't think the treadwear is very good and they aren't as wide. Hope this...
