I don't remember if it was C&C Equipment or Boyce Equipment that built a 5 link front and 4 link air suspension for the M35. It's in one of the crew cab build threads. I don't know if they offer it as a kit but it's something to look into. Maybe at the least they'd be willing to share some...
What exactly are you saying is opinion? K&N filters are known for dusting motors and it is well documented. Foam filters have been proven to filter and flow more than a convention cotton/paper filter this is also well documented. You can look it all up.
Probably be better off asking on a hot rod forum. A lot of the a/c installs on here are pieced together. Have you looked at the a/c system Muttparts offers? It looks like it is a complete kit. No idea on quality or if anyone here has used it.

I just looked up the system you are referring to and they offer it as a cable accuated system. They call it the EZ Slider and it eliminates electronic/vacuum actuation from the system. Sorry for the long URL I'm at work and all the shortening sites are blocked...
You never know. Remember the contract is awarded to the lowest bidder. Most companies cut costs by using lower quality parts. The lower quality parts tend to be consumables like the air/oil filters, belts, brake shoes etc. So you make be fairly close to the CFM limit stock.
Three layer foam...
The best filter isn't the stock one, the best filter would be a three layer foam design. These have the ability to flow more than stock while still filtering better. There have been a lot of studies performed that prove the are superior to cotton or paper. Only real problem is that you would...
It looks from the pictures that he installed the pre-filter sock. Those are supposed to make them filter much better. To be honest though I've been reading a lot lately about engines being "dusted" when running K&N filters. My uncle has a small fleet of trucks in Texas and had several engine go...

Sorry Mudguppy I wasn't really asking a question. I was trying to say that there are a handful of guys that have made their trucks capable and safe for 70mph+, you just happen to be the one I know of, and it would be beneficial if you guys would inform everyone of what is required to actually do...
I know I'm resurrecting an oldish thread but I've been doing a lot of reading about tuning a diesel engine. It's been mentioned several times in this thread that the engines are have no differences aside from the IP fuel delivery rate and pump timing. These two things alone will account for the...
I agree with you. The sad truth is most people are lazy, stupid or both. It doesn't matter what hobby you enjoy that's just a terrible combination.
I honestly think the biggest limiting factor concerning speed for a M35 is gearing. Between the transmission and axle ratio the overall final gear...
It's funny so many people chime in when a new guy ask how to make his truck faster when few have done it. Maybe we should suggest said new guy look up what the speed rating is on the tires he wants to use. Especially since most of the MIL-spec tires are only rated to 60 or 65. The M35 can be...
If I read that thread correctly he didn't do anything to the bottom end aside from balancing and blue printing. All his money was spent on the head, cam and turbo. What really caught my attention was the inefficiency of his engine, 2 gallons for 300 feet sucks. Especially since a Cummins 6cta...
I find it amusing that everyone says how weak this engine is and how few rpms it can turn yet Heath post a link showing a guy BALANCED the bottom end and was able to turn 4000rpms realiably. On top of that he did a very good build on the head with a larger TURBO and was able to make about 500hp...
It's amazing that an actaul engine rebuild is considered drastic. If I suggested doing something like tossing surplus parts in my 1000cc sport bike or '72 small block Chevy without atleast matching piston weights everyone would jump all over me. I guess since the Army did piss poor maintenance...
I think the facts he's referring to are that no one has ever done a proper rebuild. Proper being defined as selecting pistons/wrist pins closest in weight, having the entire rotating assembly balanced , replacing all the stressed bolts(head/rod/main), using a quiality gasket kit and properly...
I fully plan to purchase a second LDS engine for my rebuild. Do I think that I'm going to make a 500 HP 4000 RPM screamer? Certainly not but I do plan to push the engine as far as it can safely go. If that is only 250 HP, great, if it ends up being 400 HP, amazing to the say the least. Really if...
I was under the impression, after reading through threads all night, that the HG blows because the OE head bolts do not secure the head very well. There is supposedly a video on youtube showing the head floating during normal use. So upgraded head bolts would deffinently be on the list.
There...
