And then there's the old gasket material source right in the kitchen: cereal boxes! Yes, they frequently are the right size and can be easily used to make "heat of the battle" repairs when you need that one gasket that got used up or torn when making the repair earlier.
Agree ^^
Also, check your air filter and make sure there are no obstructions or blockages. Diesels need the same amount of air regardless of fuel or load.
Most phones can be locked on one position or the other when capturing images, both still and video.
Great to see your genes starts right up despite the chill.
I've got similar temps in my area today, just might try a cold start test myself.
Nice looking and running genset. Just might give the Howes a try for my diesel gear around the farm.
Good clear video, but one suggestion, from a professional; try shooting in the horizontal format as it's easier to see more like how a human sees the same scene as you.
I used a smaller vise-grip pliers to activate my jack once I picked up the unit from the trucker. That's when I noticed the crank handle was not along for the ride. Oh well, I've made much more challenging items in my shop. Just one more thing to add to the Maker's List!
Great. Seems simple enough except that now, in addition to building the new wiring and components into my home, I need a maintenance item costing more dollars. The exercise protocol seems easy enough. What's the most obvious telltale sign you've been wet stacked?
No worries, I'm not going to be bidding on any items in the central US as I live in northern New England. Like the trailer, but not enough to travel over 800 miles for one.
I used my older tractor PTO driven 12.5kw unit like that, with cables, to run critical loads, but now with a stand alone unit, I would rather spend the money to run the whole house rather than just run cables all around the basement. Pay it once, and enjoy the time saved!
Thanks for that! While I plan to use my 803A for home power, the capability to make power available direct from the unit while not hooked up to the house would be very beneficial.
Thanks for that insight. Reading up on operating my new to me 803A had me concerned about wet stacking. Last thing I need would be to run my gear only to bunch it up and require a tear down to correct.
