I just purchased Westfolk's primary, secondary, and oil filter kits. I emailed him Tuesday evening, he emailed back same day. I paid for them on Wednesday, and they were here on Friday. Couldn't beat the quick reply, pricing, or the quick delivery. Great guy to deal with.
$1850 seems like a fair price for a rebuilt LDS. I paid $1500 for a LDT, but I don't have any connections on buying stuff. It is coming with the generator, whistler turbo, clutch, etc... A lot of the engines I found were minus turbo and generator. So I figure that I paid about $800-$1000 for...
I find that the search function on the site gets poor results. I see that you used google. I started doing that and it is much more helpful. I read through some of those threads. Most talk about what would be needed, but I didn't see where anyone had actually done it.
I'm going to read...
The guy that I bought this engine from said that he has been driving and dealing with M35's for 20 years. Said he has had many hundreds of trucks, and has never had a single engine failure. Said that he has had some injection pumps fail, balancers come off, fan break, but never an internal...
I have wanted to make a dual circuit brake system, but I couldn't find any good threads about people doing it. The guy that is working on my truck with me owns a complete fabrication shop. The guy can make about anything.
Do you have any suggestions on how to start planning for a dual circuit...
Thank you. We race it in the drag radial series here in Kansas City and we also attend a few of the larger races at Ozark Raceway. My friend will be driving, I just tune this car since I sold mine this year. This combo will run 7.40s to 7.60's on drag radials with stock style rear suspension...
It won't make as much power as that Hemi, but my friend and I are finishing a 598 with a F-3 to race this year since I sold my race car. This engine made a little over 2400 HP on gasoline.
Would you recommend surfacing the flywheel, but running the old clutch? I had already planned on running the best looking clutch between the replacement engine and my current engine.
RealCavDog, that was the brand that I was looking at also.
DieselBob, that gauge is the one that I wanted. I had seen it on here before.
goodguyzy, I may end up adding a muffler, heated leather sounds cool.
Gimpy, send me your drawings so that I can get started on the hydrogen generator.
I...
I’d like your opinions on what I should add/upgrade on my truck.
I just finished bobbing it this last weekend. I still need to touch up the paint, make 1 brake line, bleed the brakes, flip the hubs, and pack the front hubs.
I already have purchased 395 MVT’s, and I ordered custom...
We just did mine last weekend. With 3' cut out of the stock bed, the front axle had to move back approximately 1.25" to be centered with the bed. We moved it back 2 inches because then the front leaf spring hanger used 1 or 2 existing holes in the frame. I need to check the driveshaft a...
I purchased a good used engine today. Well, I hope that it is good. This one is a White (last one was a Hercules), LDT, Whistler. It supposedly starts very easily, has good oil pressure, and sounds good.
I am slightly concerned because it came out of a truck used at a fire department??? I...
Ya, none of this may matter, but..... I have more money than I do time. I don't really want to put another engine in for a while. I am hoping that by doing a little work I can have a reliable engine for years to come.
I think that I have a plan if I find a good running engine. I'll still disassemble it. I'll inspect and clean everything. I will be hoping that the bearings look good. I'd like to replace the rod bolts (does anyone know where/if I can buy them?) and resize the rods. Polish the crank if...
Well some of you guys have me thinking about just putting a used engine in it and hoping that it does well. I spent about 4 hours today bobbing the truck. I thought about the engine situation most of the time. If engines are cheap to come by, then I could swap a few before it would cost as...
As some of you may remember, I recently bought a M35A2. On the trip home it kicked a rod. I do not know the cause yet. May have been an oiling issue, could have been a rod bolt failure. I may have been over-revving it if the tach was not correct.
Now that I have been reading more about...
