Thanks yall. I will check the GPs tomorrow.
When I bought it, it was running on red diesel (heating oil), but it should have gone through all that by now. It's been ran on pump hwy diesel for weeks.
Just dropped $212 on new batteries, and she still wont start. It'll crank and crank, but just wont fire. It's about 40 degrees. It wont start easy when it's cold out, but I can normally get it started fine after a few cranks. Any ideas?
Thanks a lot yall. I was giving it a completely different approach. aua
I'll raise the stock and see how that goes.
AK fits huh? Too bad I traded mine for that AR. :(
Now I just have to wait until I'm 18, but for now, I can keep it back there for farm "work".
I brang out my AR15 to try and figure out how the gun rack works...and I couldn't figure it out.
Here's my failed attempt:

By the way, that orange cap plugging...
Thanks yall! A deuce or m1008 is next on my list..
I torture tested the m1009 last night on some off-road trails. 35mph down rocky, bumpy dirt roads (even had her airborne for a second...I swear that bump popped out of nowhere). Put her through small hillclimbs you can barely walk up...
I picked up my first CUCV M1009! I bought it for $1400 from a member on here. I've put near 200 miles on it, daily driven, and I love it! Anything I need to do to it?
Here she was as is the day I bought her. Drove home about an hour.
Truck came with a set of Super Swamper Thornbirds...
Alright guys. Sold my truck and hopefully bringing a '09 back home with me on Tuesday.
I think I'll take that axle, but see if he can drop the price a little bit. I wanna go ahead and swap the axle on Thursday.
Thanks a lot of the help everyone! Looks like I will be getting that M1009 whenever I get my truck sold.
As for the comfort level...aint any worse than my K10. I aint got a heater/defroster or A/C. Just drove about 50 miles with the windows down in 30 degree weather to keep it from...
Thanks a lot for the quick response!
Yeah, price seems fair to me!
Ok, I will do some reading on the system. I'll admit the 24/12 system confuses the heck out of me.
Think so? I'm going to do a filter and fluid change soon. Got all the stuff...just need the time now! Selling that thing...
I currently have a 1979 Chevy K10. Around 140,000 miles, and there is a delay in Reverse. That truck has been pretty unreliable to me (many road side redneck rigging  ). The truck gets about 8mpg, which is really hurting my wallet. I'm 16, but I do have a job. I pay 100% for...
Thanks everyone!
Thanks! I read that awhile ago. I want to try and fab it myself in my Motorsports class, or even a slant back. I'll probably revert to using those specs though.
Anybody know what the bed length would be? I'm guessing 5ft?
Thanks! So, even if I put blocks on the...
I'm somewhat new to the forum and I just had a few questions that should get answered pretty quickly on here :driver: I did a forum search, so please dont flame me. This is for the M1009.
1. Lifting- I would like to throw on some 4 inch blocks in the rear, but I'm stuck with what to do...
One thing I've learned from working on trucks and diagnosing problems is this: always used the KISS method. Keep It Simple, Stupid. Start with the small, easy things, and move on to the harder things.
Just a little tip. I have that problem to overthink things.
I'm buying an m1009 for $1500. 90,000 miles on it, runs good, locking hubs wont stay engaged though. He's throwing in some extra Super Swamper tires with it. And a whole front axle for a total of $1650 with the axle. The deals are out there! Just might want to stay away from GL, they seem...
Make sure your t-case shifter is fully in gear. I've had times where I done that and it would make a screeching sound because of the parking paw.
But yeah, pull the bellhousing cover and check the flexplate.
I'm buying an m1009 soon.
I want to do a 4 inch lift also. I'd do blocks in the rear, but what should I use for the front? I have very little money to spend on it.
Are there ANY changes I will have to do? (extended DS, brake lines, etc)
Sorry to resurrect and old thread!
