Can you give a detailed hook-up of the resistor,diode and switch? Positions in circuit?

Are the diode and resistor for the exciter circuit in the old box ?

You mentioned two components advr-54 and se-350 do I need both?

How difficult is the change over? I am no where near an elecrician.

Who can repair a voltage regulator for a mep-004? Cr 7 and cr8 diodes burnt ,cr22 and a couple of others don't look healthy. It's a new year and still working on the generator. Thanks, Mike

Unit would not crank. Lowered control panel. Terminal is separated from switch, rivet broken. Prior to finding this I was having trouble getting the gen to produce power unless switch was held up. Thanks for your reply, Mike

Thanks guys. I have very little experience with this gen set, it has been fine since 2011 when I purchased it. I'll check the regulator. One more question, does the dc power for this come from the alternator on the engine or from the generator?

mep004 no output voltage unless starter switch is held up. Ran fine last time. Any ideas where to start looking?
