I sprayed gunk electronics cleaner in the switches, is all I had on hand but did order some Deoxit so will try that Monday when it arrives. I spun the AM VM switch at least 50 times each direction but made no difference
I did notice something odd that MAY help someone diagnosis the...
I have a clamp meter and did verify the output, that post is on the first page of this thread somewhere. It was 39.? and 40.? per leg so the output was there the meter just did not agree. At the 39 and 40 amp output per leg the meter was at like 25-30% and should have read close to 100%. That...
I think I am confusing everyone including myself.....so when in doubt, pictures:)
This switch?
Or this switch?
If it is that second one where exactly in that TOWER that it is connected to the back of the switch do you spray exactly?
Hello Daybreak,
In searching a bit ago I did see that. So exercise the switch behind the control panel correct? Tried that turning to all 3 positions a dozen times or so with no luck. I know I am probably not going to like your answer but....for that switch it would require taking the...
That is unfortunate, had hoped there was something I was missing. I can live with a bit inaccurate but off by 50%?? That is just going to bug me. I will see what I can find online as a replacement. Stock or not I don't care about.
Zed,
I tried that, don't think this is a calibration issue with the meter. There is not near enough adjustment to get it close to accurate. With the adjustment I can get it to go from 30% on meter to 50% on the meter but no higher at 10kw load. I removed the leads to the ammeter and cleaned...
I finished the load bank today which is 4 220V 2500W hot water tank elements and 2 120V 1500W elements in a 55 gallon drum. After a warm up I applied different loads and the Gen handled them fine up to 13k. I let it run about 15 minutes on 10k watts and other than quite a bit of smoke, least...
But. My new MEP 803A when I purchased it the seller had sent me pics of it and had 47 hours on the clock. As part of the prep work for the install I ordered a 24V maint charger for it. When the very nice seller and I were talking about the possible purchase I had done my due diligence and I...
My plan is to leave that bottom cap off and only put it on when the gen is run. That way if there is moisture in the pipe or if say the flapper would get stuck open I will know it as I will see the drips on the floor. The exhaust upright and the short 6" pipe that goes in to the flex fitting...
Brian,
Yep you are close, picked up my Grasshopper out your way, well in Belleview. Quad fuse mod.....hmm will look that up. I saw that they had a bunch of units coming up for auction in PA when I was looking. I thought about it but I just don't have the time so went the easy but more...
Pictures as promised. The gen on the 6 wheel sled.
The exhaust stack, it is 1.25" pipe all the way up and out.
Made up a simple steel bracket that the pipe goes through and on top of the bracket there is a heavy steel clamp I made that bolts around the pipe and rests on top of the...
Yes it takes away a real worry. I have a small back up gas gen and a 3/4 HP regenerative blower I was using for power failures but the amount of air it pushes is just barely enough to keep the fish from gulping at the surface. There is something to be said for peace of mind:) Not to mention...
I will post pics tomorrow after the exhaust install.
Even with the posts here I still was not convinced the 803 would be enough to run everything but it appears to be with room to spare. The house is all electric except for the stove which is propane. Have two AC units a 3 or 4 ton? Don't...
Hello,
I'm Wills, not Willis, everyone sees that extra I till I point out it isn't there. Just wanted to introduce myself though I have been reading threads here for a week or so so feel like I already know some of the regular posters. I know I will need some help sooner or later.
I own a...
