Also, it says to twist the vacuum pump around to access the last intake bolt. I removed the retaining clamp, but the vacuum pump is frozen solid. Is this going to cause any problems for me down the road? I was able to get all the intake bolts off anyways. Now I am trying to remove the pipe...
a few questions as I plan this job:
1) should I replace the fuel injectors?
2) I am going to replace the injector pump. Any problem with the ones on ebay?
3) Should I replace the water pump too?
4) Its says in the manual that I need a speacial tool to remove the injectors, and something called...
I have a M1008 . Today when I started it cold, I noticed a small puddle of coolant on the ground. When it was still cold, I removed the radiator cap. Lots of flkuid came gushing out, and bubbles. I also noticed the reservior was filled very high. What is going on?
Thanks. That is a good explanation.
I found this flow chart that I found to be very useful to track down problems. It has all the voltages listed. It is here:

After going through this flow chart, it...
If the relay is supposed to be 12v, then I guess it is OK. I thought the 24 volt was supposed to be stepped down to 12 by the resistor. Maybe this is simpler than I thought.
Hello, I just found my M1008 doesnt start and I feel that the problem is the glow plugs arent working. The light still works, but it stays on for much longer than it usually does.
I checked the voltage to the relay and I read 24 volts (although I didnt disconnect all the glow plug leads.)...
I cant get the mounting plate nut off. It was torqued to 110 ft lbs. I have soaked it in penetrating oil, hit it with the torch, and pounded on it with the chisel.
You mentioned using a punch? Where should I hit it with a punch? I dont think my chisel is effective. I must not be hitting...
Thanks for the offer. I could buy a ticket, considering the cost of the brand new, assembled hydraboosts I saw at $500. This piston or plunger thing is what connects between the hydraboost and the master cylinder. I have been looking at it, and I have concluded that plastic oiece on the end of...
I got everything apart and off the truck. Thats where the trouble starts. These rebuilt hydraboosts ask you to take out the star shaped retainer that is holding in the spring tensioned plunger. You are supposed to transfer this to the new unit. Taking it out wasnt to hard. After I got it...
I am finding it very difficult to access the two nuts on the firewall, behind the steering wheel/column. I tried dropping the steering column, but that doesn't really help. Do I need to pull out the dash to get in there?
