Specs for an 819. Does anyone have them handy?

If anyone has them handy or can point me to the place that does, I need the height, length and width of an 819. Do the brake have to be released on those to get them to roll? Sorry to sound so ignorant but I'm ending someone else after the truck. They are taking a Landoll. I hope that will work...

Will this trailer work behind an 819?

Theres a 127 at Ft. Knox, I thought about buying it because I eventually wanted to get an 818 but I guess that won't work. So what does the 127 fit? The old multifuel tractor from the 60's? Rocky

Will this trailer work behind an 819?

Nice trailer for sure. Send me a PM if you would with the price. I'd like a fixer upper primarily because we run our own sawmill and I could saw an oak flat for it. I'm guessing these are not all that common. They must have made a 100 to one ratio of 818 to 819 and if the 270 trailer was the...

Will this trailer work behind an 819?

Will a M127 flatbed trailer work behind an 819 or will the landing gear cause trouble with turning? I'm still looking for a 270 series trailer. If anyone happens to see one somewhere for sale, let me know. Rocky Kentucky M819

    Towing it home

Missing parts. No seats. I thin it has a few things gone off the engine like missing hoses. It was sold as scrap so It's going to need worked over.

    Towing it home

I learned years ago that putting a truck in neutral with a 5 spd. isn't good enough. Last one we tried that with, the trans. exploded in a million piece before we got it home. So, unless these military trucks have something in the driveline that allows freewheeling, I'm going to take something...

    Towing it home

Got the clearance on getting my m819 out of Ft. Knox. Look like it's going to be a hired out job to a HD wrecker service. Is there a stashed page of what to do to pull it? Thought about taking an axle out of each rear axle....Any help appreciated. Rocky

    Shortening drop side beds....

I want to do a bobbed deuce this summer. Already bought a decent looking drop side and waiting on EUC clearance. I'm hoping a drop side bed can be cut down because a drop side bead would be handier for me to have. Anyone ever cut one down? ROcky

    New Record!

I'm a first timer myself. I've bought 4 trucks so far. EUC's all sent to BC this week. Do they call by phone? If so, that might be a problem because, I don't have an answering machine. R

    GL reselling trucks

Want to keep it fair? THIS...THIS is the way to do it! Through ebay if offered at the high bid of position two underbidder. I say it should be at an increment above number three underbidder. Eliminate number one alltogether. That's the way GL should do it too. Rocky

Vehicles sold as scrap. No titles?

I found out why GL is wanting me to pay for my truck I bought at Ft. Knox last week long before the EUC. They sent me an email saying it was sold as scrap and does not fall under the same terms as other trucks. I guess that means I don't get a title but I would probably find another route to get...

What, if any, are the differences between the XM and M 818?

I bought a 66 model 818 with the multifuel. Due to euc deadlines, I don't know yet if that deal is viable or not. If not, I have my eye on some XM's . What are the differences between the two? Rocky

    Towing more than one?

Looks like there'd be a way for an 818 to pull two more 818's via the towbar system. After seeing new freightliners piggybacked one pulling another four via the fith wheel route, I was just wondering. Rocky

    Trailers for an 819

What type of trailers are intended to be used with an M819? Does anyone know the capacity of the wrecker on those? Looks to be a little lighter than the 816. Rocky

    M818 questions...

Looks like there's be some way to make the trailer fit the 818 irregardless. With one axle, looks like a simple fix to get it up to 14 or 16 hundred height so that it would be level. BTW, I didn't know a mobile office version to fit the 818 was even available. I just bought a deuce with the...

    What's the worst.....

I never have understood why the civilian style trucks get treated like that. Why they would stripn'gut a vehicle that would be so easily swap parts onto from the civilian junk yard is beyond me. Obviously any soft parts from a civilian blazer or suburban will fit these. Rocky

    M925's

Looks like I'm going to have to read the terminology dictionary. I don't know what ctis stands for. Do these 925's have air or juice brakes? Rocky

    M925's

Hey guys! I'm a newbie to this site. Bear with me if I am asking repetitive questions. Me and my son have been searching the GL site and are amazed at the high prices some of the stuff is bringing. I'm also baffled why the govt. Would not get any more use out of a 925a2 than 90 miles, let it sit...
