BUT as we all know these things leak air over time.
So sitting for a week or two there would be no way to open the hood to check the oil before starting

With myself not getting any younger, opening the hood all the way and closing can be iffy.
After installing the hood lift struts, they work great.

I also have the reinforcing plate on the back.
I probably could of used the belt position in front of the compressor by tucking the pump in closer.
If there ever does become a problem it still can be done.
I have full steering same as I did before the conversion.
Will turn from stop to stop. I have had no hard spots on the wheel due to the belt slipping.
There have also been no squeaking.
The picture you see here is the first way I had the pump. But when I went to put the fender on it hit the pulley.
My truck has a after market aluminum radiator. Has no fan shroud
However the pump and pulley are back even with the air compressor.

So all that said,
I need to put the small gauge wire to the field terminal on the alternator. Correct?
Its reading 26.8 when running and 13.8 when running
Its a 8367N alternator.24v 70 amp.
what ever the height of the tires are that's ho much needs to be remover from the bed.
Why not take that much out of the center of the bed and weld the front and back half back together. I did mine so it was cut behind the side pockets.

On a original M813 alternator, there is a positive, negative and a small wire. what is the small wire for??
