Im all about it!!! The wife says "you have a dozen cars and trucks, go play with them and leave my jeep alone!" She has claimed it and wont let me turn it into a toy. It was her idea to make the trailer fit the jeep, so she can "haul stuff" when I am not using it ;)
I have a 4 door wrangler, Just picked up a 1102, but I think ill be level if I just swap the wheels to 16" dodge wheels. My pintle hitch is only a 4" rise.
I think so. Most people don't realize the lack of creature comforts and the expense of owning MV's. Let alone all hoops you may have to jump through along the way. It is a addiction though, Just picked up another m1102 at FT Carson this week . (Jonathan, im gonna need a bigger parking space...
I think you may be correct. I do hope however that things balance out over a little time and it settles back to as it was. I was on G.P. for the first time today and noticed how high the bidding starts on some items. Could be tough to make a good buy over there.
I purchased my m923A2 from a guy that had never titled it. The guy then moved before I knew what I needed and I couldn't track him down.... Major OOOPS. I ended up getting a bonded title through the state, cost me a couple hundred dollars and a month of hassle, but well worth it in the end, I...
RV dealers sell a tape that is for repairing awnings. It works well, but is a permanent non removable fix. It may be worth while to have some with you just in case.
The PTO is attached to the transmission. It is a gear drive that has a shaft to the hydraulic pump. One lever in the cab (or cable) engages and disengages the PTO. The other lever controls a hydraulic valve that is pressurized by the fluid coming from the pump. The valve for the wench is "open"...
Another consideration for me was if I want to add hydraulic accessories in the future I can do that with a PTO mounted pump, possibly a knuckle boom or lift of some sort. Depending on how you plan to use your truck in the future there are a ton of opportunities for upgrades available.
The wet kit was from a 900 series of some sort, probably from a truck with wench. I purchased it from a guy whom had purchased it from Eastern Surplus. It contained the PTO, Drive shaft, pump, wench control valve, tank, some hoses and the controls for pto and valve, and assorted brackets for the...
I didnt consider the fuel costs.... I suppose it would rack up pretty fast. Im thinking maybe building a universal mount similar to a 3 point on a tractor, then build attachments as necessity dictates.. I bet we come up with senpretty handy stuff though
I installed a wet kit on my m923a2 with plans of adding a dump hoist soon, and running hydraulic lines to the back to power a dump trailer I am building..... I got to thinking about this today and hydraulic lines to the rear could be very handy for many projects... For example I have been...
I think it is because of the variables.... torque converter position can affect how much is drained back, how much fluid is left behind different valves and pumps? Just to many places for fluid to either drain from or be held within the trans. When it is running the pump is turning and...
I do not like the cable shift one bit. I just finished installing the wet kit, Now I have to install the hoist and hinges next.... I need to rent, borrow, beg or steal the equipment to lift the bed though. I also have a 15kw generator mounted on a trailer that will be getting a dump box from a...
My rather limited experience with MVs says buy a civilian truck for your needs. I agree that the look would be great, but MV,s tend to be cold in winter, hot in summer, rough riding and slow. (all the things I love about them). However making one "wife friendly" May prove to be a massive...
Cost wise I would diagnose, then research. Repairs may not be to bad... They are all good trucks as built, I have considered power upgrades and other mods, but in reality my truck is reliable and tough as nails as is ;). If you do have to change the motor there are a ton of possibilities.
By...
it's a fluke meter and it still works fine, but it's a good suggestion. I do have the same connectors, but have no power there either. I thought about the headlamp switch as well, but the schematic says all the marker lamps are the same circuit and the rest of them work. It has to be between the...
They are the amber side markers at the back sides of the bed. They look like they tie into the rear light harness. I could just tie into the rear trailer harness or the rear tail lamp harness, but I am more concerned that I burned a wire in half somewhere and will have problems later from it...
Thank you, That's what I was thinking, but hoping I was wrong. I have checked the ground, Its good, and the connections in the plug are solid. there is no current getting to the plug on either side, so I will start tracing the wires tonight when I get home. I have a home wiring tracer, so I may...
