You can swap out the TC, but if you are doing so to save gas you wont notice much differnce unless you also convert the hubs to PT4WD
The TC in these trucks throw the power to the axle with least resistance, therefore if you drop the drive shaft the truck wont move unless you put the TC in HI...
Sounds good and I look forward to seeing it, but remember my door bell does not work so you have to beat on the back door...
And remember, any wife that lets you have a mistress is a keeper :)
I have used the ones from the help section, I grease them up before putting them on and have not had any problem.
The kit I got had a bunch of bushings for a variety of vehicles , I didn't like having to pay for a variety pack that included a bunch of stuff I could not use, but it was the only...
Rick Larson already has a 1.75 in " military police " stencil on his web site. I am sure he can make in 3 in also. I have bought oil board stencils from him in the past and they are the way to go...
Military Stencils by Rick Larsen
The inline fuse holder came with 12 ga. wires, I also used 12 GA. when I added the 2, 8 in. pieces.
All connections were crimped and soldiered on both set ups.
Your dad is right, as a Marine stationed at Pearl Harbor we were issued one from the Navy motor pool to take Marine security guards on post. They had troop seats, a canvas top for the bed and a step that was welded to the back bumper.
We used it till the mid 80s then it was replaced with a...
for those of you following this thread :
I got around to bypassing the internal CB and wiring an inline fuse. It worked great except the fuse holder got pretty hot, The blackout lite switch got worm as well, but the fuse did not blow or the lites kick out. this was after running...
Remove the horn ring, put the nut back on the shaft and screw it so it is flush with the end of the shaft.
Then take both of your legs (Thies) and wedge them on the bottom / back side of the steering wheel while pulling back with one hand at the top, Then take a hammer and hit the retaining...

All M880 came with...
SKAJM : Thanks for the link, I have read it before and did do the MOD for the firewall connector a few years back, I have not done the AMP gauge bypass yet because there are no signs of it being bad or overheating, However this is a mod that will be done in the future as time permits. I have...
A bad or under AMP CB is what I am leaning toward right now, everything on the truck has been checked and double checked. and the fact remains that the problem was cured by replacing the switch with a Brand New one ( but unfortantly the cure only lasted about 10 months ) I am therefore awful...
I did just spent $20 bucks for 4 LED 1157s and dash lights, However the dash lights were way to dim, and the 1157s bulbs I got would either work as running lights or flash for turn signals but not both, This confuses me because all 4 1157s have two filiments.
I do not have a DC Ampmeter. I could probable borrow one but then I don't know how to use it.
According to the The wiring diagram I have for this vehicle, the lights on this vehicle are 16 and 18 ga. any idea how many amps a 18 ga. wire will handle ?
One thing that puzzles me is that...
A few observations :
1) I applied heat to the CB and confirmed ( like NDT noted ) that the noise is the CB snapping open.
2) The switch in the link provided by BOATCARPENTER seems to be a much older style than mine, I can not even see a CB in the one in the write up and mine has no snap...
