Super Dave's M135 has certainly set the bar as 'The Rig' to compare to. I don't think GM made them look that pristine when they originally came off the line! Its **** near surgical....
If the opportunity exists to see it in person by all means photograph it to death and I will pay for a disc...
Thanks to M135CDN I have a complete 'Working Reference Model/Template' to add to the family. This truck will serve as a running working reference platform for our other G749 projects.
Gord was an awesome host and was gracious enough to allow my manchild Tyler the opportunity to sample other...
Brother you have the persistence of a Pit Bull that refuses to let go of the Trespasser's leg! Nicely done. Looks clean and surgical from the photos. I can only imagine the hours and 'Not meant for Children's ears' expletives of encouragement!
Great job and thanks for keeping us informed with...
Hey Brother, glad to read your making progress. I appreciate your persistence in digging up information and taking the time to share your findings. I hope to spend a solid week tearing my stuff apart for 'refurbishment' next week. And like Stan has posted..... Photos, Photos, Photos!
Mine are all 'Works getting ready for progress!' I'm getting pumped counting down the months and days for Spring to get the M135 Cdn MRT stripped down and refurbished. I sweet talked Butch Atkins out of six large boxes of NOS parts and pieces, went to meet Tom at Alfa Heaven and returned with a...
We get to see them when they are in transit to 'bases unknown'. The semi has two of them piggy backed together. I took a bunch of photos with my blackberry but i'm having 'issues' trying to get the photos to post. The transport drivers stop over here in Woodstock.
The front winch and bumper...
You Sir are Awesome to quote my Kid's LOL! Your also killing me, that is an amazing build. Now my guy's want to know if we can build a fleet for their GI Joe's!
Great Fab skills, can you show us a picture of your primary tools?
Looking forward to watching yuour progress.
Jim
Thanks for the input cornrichard. The owner has the 'title' and paperwork etc. Pretty lame where you can register a 55 year old gas hog (as long as it passes a safety inspection) but the newer out of service MLVW's won't be issued ownerships from the Federal Government.
Which is totally stupid...
An opportunity has arisen to check out a 1956 M54. Appears to be in pretty solid shape. The brakes have been done (Wheel Cylinders etc.) Has a winch. Included is an M105 Trailer and cover.
Not too keen on the Continental R6602 however, but a second brand new in the can engine is included. It...
I am watchIng this thread! My son and I were drooling over the YouYube video of your truck and interior set up. I am as dumb as a bag of hammers when it comes to electronics (actually failed that part of the military entrance exam lol).
We were hoping to mirror your type of radio/intercom...
OK Soni your killing me, I promise to be biblical and not covet the beautiful woman in the picture................. the Truck, well sorry I've got a shrine dedicated to it LOL!!
WOW, that beats the Yamamoto Battleship build my son showed me! There is more dollars invested in that aircraft carrier than the last two M135's I squirreled!
I'm looking for a front bumper of two for the M135, a radiator, and front light assembly (Left side) And like everyone else a working winch that wont require a second mortgage!
Any fuel pump sending unit pieces etc.
Thanks for any Heads Up in advance.
Jim
