So update:
1. Made my own brake tool.
2. Had some custom steel braided lines installed to get rid of the crappy hard lines and multiple fitting/failure points
Thanks everyone got her buttoned up tight with nordlocks and red thread locker. Word to the wise...wear a respirator and eye protection. I got covered in brake dust and all I was wearing were some shorts
Thanks for the update on threadless and washers.
- I got the caliper off and the old pads out.
- I c-clamped the caliper to push the piston in.
- I put the new pads in
The caliper doesn't want to squeeze around the new pads even with piston all the way in.
Does anyone have any idea on how to disassemble the brakes without taking the caliper off. My goal is to just swap out pads. The rears look easy (there's a lot of room). The fronts are tight in there especially the driver side.
I had cut one rig off of the passenger side, I'll have to cut another on the front driver side but maybe add spacers. Might do rear spacers after I get new wheels and tires. I kind of wish I didn't cut anything off but hind sight 20/20

So I cut 1 round off the top of a 4x4 armada rear spring. Hope I did this right. It's going on the front of the m1123. Going to be compressing the armada spring to get it in. Left spring is armada and right is stock front m1123.
Sorry if this is a dumb question but Im new to the HMMWV coming from a chevy suburban. Does the M1123 shock rebound or does it just provide resistance both ways? i pulled my shock out and it has resistance going down but doesnt come back up on its own. is it bad? do the new shocks bounce back up?
I pulled the transfer case because I lost drive. I pulled it and everything was OK. Checked the differential thinking that was the next culprit. Nope it was all good. The 6 bolts holding cv axles to diff flanges sheared. Got the rear end (diff and portal axles) refilled with new gaskets and got...
Anyone have the past number for the rear transmission seal on the 4spd?
I was leaking between the transmission and Transfer case. Is the transmission supposed to leak when the cross member is out and the transmission is angled down? I saw these holes and saw that fluid was coming out which...
