This fan setup will more than support your truck in up hill, towing etc. I am putting it to the test in all circumstances otherwise its not worth converting in my opinion. I routinely beat my humvee to death offroad and in the worst of circumstances. It has never exceeded 210 degrees and my 6.2...
Its a 12v two stage fan pulling 5,000 cfm on high and 2800 on low. The high setting draws 47 amps while the low 27 amps. It uses a marine grade 24v to 12v power inverter to operate the system. The kit im putting together will include fan, shroud, relays, breakers, switches connectors, wiring...
Just like anything else electrical, if you plan on deep fording you would need to insulate the electrical connections with a waterproofing compound. The power inverter i am using is waterproof and the relays with a insulator are as well. I have submerged these fans before and they return to...
Actually the fan will work with water fording. Unlike the hydraulic you just flip a switch and it deactivates. Then just re switch it once your out of the water. The fans also protected better from rushing water greatly reducing the chance of damage from higher speed entry.

Apparently this has been a "It won't work" topic to convert the humvee's hydraulic fan to an all electric unit.
I recently accomplished this on a 6.2l 3 speed m998 with a lot of help from Chris Fowler from Douglasville Georgia and his cummings converted truck "Rosie". He converted his truck to...
Havnt posted in a very long time. Had a lot of big changes in my life, some good and some bad. Obviously those events have influenced my build. But heres the skinny.
I have almost completed my turbo setup. Still working on the turbo i want to use and in the market for an investor to put the...
Thank you! There is so much more coming. Long travel suspension, roll cage, race seats, full hydro steering, fuel cell and spin on fuel filter with all AN fittings just to name the meat and potatoes. Ill try to keep it updated better.
Ok. I apologize to all the ones that were interested in this build. I have been mostly posting on facebook and my instagram (@dirtyvee90 for those interested). I also have a youtube now for some of my crazy offroad exploits. you can check out one of my videos here...

Well this is my luck, i should of had my truck yesterday, however my truck driver had a hub blow out on his truck and was down for two days missing the tiny 4 hour window to pick up my truck on tuesdays, the only day i can pick up, at Ft. Meade. Unfortunatly another truck could not pick up the...
Last week I scheduled pick up and delivery for my truck. Truck should be delivered either late Thursday evening or sometime Friday of this up coming week. Stoked beyond words :D
EUC was approved today, could not get in touch with my point of contact probably because I found out late in the evening. Calling first thing in the morning to schedule pick up!

Welded up the manifold and even had a chance to get up close and take some measurements thanks to Mike Vaden at Black Dog.
Learned two things while fabbing this up, one i got a lot to learn about welding and two grinding an ugly weld is a huge pain in the ass!
Either way this is only a first...
Web me and you are in the same group buddy, really hope it comes next week. My truck is already lined up for transport just in case :)
