Okay, do me a favor and go remove and clean your battery terminal connections.
I literally just had this happen this morning.
The terminals were loose and a bit of white corrosion to boot combined with oxidized lead under the terminals.
Starter clicked and everything went dead.
Sure sign of main...
What Cucvrus said and make sure the bulb sockets are clean and free of corrosion, grounds are clean, any trailer harness or tail light wire connector is not corroded or wonky.
Mine did the same thing when I got it home.
Turned out to be a bad ground combined with the fancy jazz band led tail...
The Paradox supplemental cooling kit has arrived.
Here is the unboxing.
Tomorrow my HMMWV crossover should be here also.
So when everything is together I will assemble the kit on my 1986 M1009 6.2 NA motor.
I have added a high quality aftermarket bulb style coolant gauge but the bullb is in the...
Your driveshaft absolutely MUST be lengthened.
I worked at a driveline service and built driveshafts all day long.
Go take a seal to center measurement and contact a local or online driveline company.
(Measure directly from the seal surface on the output of the transfer case in a direct line to...
You are in luck!
When I brought my M1009 home from Oregon I found one of the old hubs was broken and stuck in the locked position.
Along the way I found a Four wheel parts and bought the Warn Premium set for my M1009 and installed them.
Here is what you need;
Warn Premium Hubs part number WAR...
The only way copper or rigid metal tubing will be durable is if it were bolted down tight.
The problem comes between the engine and cab.
Vibration and flex will eventually crack the tubing without some form of flexible joint.
Stainless flex line is really just plastic or rubber tubing with a...
Blazers wheel incredibly well in stock form or with stock springs and 33" tires.
Just adding locking differentials and 33's and occasionally pulling the bolts out of the sway bar and you'll have more wheeling beast than you can handle.
It is fun being the sleeper.
I would go to Hollister Hills...
Yea, that pump is drastically retarded.
Could be your piston is already on the downstroke before fuel gets injected.
I have a book of Dr. Lee Swangers stuff from the Diesel Page.
In it, he had set up an IP just like that and couldn't get it to start until he lined the marks up.
I know what you...
You did line up the timing marks exactly right?
Dr. Lee at the diesel page had a no start due to improperly lined up marks or lined up with something that wasn't a mark.
Clean it off real good and check, they are very faint lines.
Make sure you have fuel going into and out of you lift pump.
Is...
I used the plastic tube.
But you are right, it will get swapped out at some point with braided line.
On the plus side, that Fluidampr harmonic balancer has taken all the shake out of the belts and motor when at idle.
That, and I seem to have 40 psi of oil pressure at idle but it had only been...
I added an oil pressure gauge to my M1009 and plumbed it into a tee so I can still have a functioning low oil pressure warning light.
Things got a little kooky when I discovered the oil switch is threaded 1/8-27 npt and NOT the 1/4 npt I thought.
Turns out the 6.2 block actually has a 45 degree...
Be careful screwing around with your timing.
Essentially without proper equipment, nobody knows how much is too much or what is exactly correct for your rig.
Yes, standing on the front bumper and looking down at the pump; mark on pump moved towards the drivers side is advancing pump timing...
In my case I wanted them to know how and where I plan to use my m1009.
I am on a contract here till 2020.
I live and work at 9,000 feet elevation and the winter temps get down to minus 40.
There is also a 10% grade down to town for supplies.
They said an arctic pump setup might be best.
So they...
Or this;
Oregonfuelinjection.com
https://oregonfuelinjection.com/
They built me a pump to my specification.
Sent me that pump within a week and the installation gaskets I also ordered.
You install the pump and send them back your core for a $300 credit.
After return shipping and including the...
A little brisk today.
Drivers side; which is where the thermistor is, has plenty of room.
Passenger side has a huge wire harness right on top of the block off plate so I didn't bother with pictures.
That reverse arch front spring on stock m1009 / k5 blazers offers a lot of front travel.
I never lifted my blazers.
Ever see a lifted blazer on a sidehill?
No thanks.
Sometimes I would unbolt the front sway bar to gain extra travel.
I would keep the stock front springs.
I will get you some measurements and pictures.
First have to cook breakfast for the guests.
And shovel a foot of snow off the hood!
Oh Wyoming.
I was going to swap a tee in to relocate my oil pressure idiot light and install the tube for a real oil pressure gauge on my break today anyways.
Fair enough.
So let's educate him on why 33's or bigger are a bad idea with 10 bolt axles.
Let me relate a story;
I had put 33's on my 1984 K5 blazer with a 350 and open 10 bolt axles front and rear.
The stock 3.08 ratio meant much less power off the line, less compression braking down hills...
The op has an M1009.
Bgekky3 has an m1008.
It is relevant because the op said Bekky3's axles wouldn't hold up to 37's.
The op did not notice that Bgekky3 actually has an m1008.
Seems clear to me.
