Even though the starter seems to be easy to uninstall and install because it is there just looking at you, conventional sockets don't fit. They are too long. The dia bolt pattern should have been 1 inch in dia larger.
So it takes several open end wrenches and pliers and cheaters to rotate the...
Update:
Received back the frequency transducer and starter today.
I asked the starter repairman why the starter in his opinion failed.
His comment was it just wore out. Also he believed it was the original equipment not rebuilt.
He said he put a stronger drive in the unit and other better...
During the mid 70's to the bottom 90's Analogue controlled metal cutting machines (NC) were more accurate than the CNC machines.
This is because CNC machines had CPU's that had a speed of approx 4 Mega HZ . 8086 chips. Today the chips they use are 1.8 to 4.9 giga hz. Now the digital (CNC) can...
Update on starter:
There was a lot of things wrong with it which I cant repeat because I don't understand the slang.
A commentator needs to be purchased.
So I wont have it until sometime next week.
It should be close to brand new when he is finished.
When I get it back I will ask him what he...
Guy,
Peter tested the Frequency Transducer and determined that it was OK.
But the gages on the control panel are varying.
59 to 60 hz
and 208 t0 210 on the volts
Is this normal to you.
I don't know if this is good or bad.

I found a Starter repair shop 15 miles away.
They say they may be able to repair if needed and only if they can find repair parts.
Does anyone know the manufacturer?

Got some bad news.
Tried to start the gen and would not crank the engine.
The Amp gage showed a lot of discharge.
Also the starter would not turn the engine over. It tried but no bueno.
I disconnected the batteries and put them on the charger.
One battery was at 90% and the other was at 95%...
Very good info about the batteries. I have been considering a solar cell trickle system so I don't have an extension cord or remember to plug it in.
I could mount it atop the gen. if the solar cells can take the vibration. I have solar cells on my property operating my security system and been...

That's good to know.
Ive been texting Peter trying to trouble shoot the gen on Volts and hertz.
I will report the results in the morn because it will be lengthily.
But because Coug mentioned batteries I have been starting and stopping the gen several times with the two new more powerful...
I guess I'm the confused.
Their is an auto detected option on the tester.
When I turned it to volts instead of muli volts the auto detect turned off.
So I finally got a Reading 25.7 volts.
