after having done a backyard rebuild recently... one thing that helped me a ton was head and deck honing with a piece of plate glass I have (3.4"x12"x36") spray adhesive and sandpaper. It will also allow you to true your framing square up if honed with a guide to help keep it 90' (not falling...
Nice motor! So a quick couple questions, what sort of mileage do you get with that combo? is the 4l80 retrofitted with a manual valvebody setup and if so how did that go and what do you think about it? I have mostly only read up on the standalone computers for the 4l80e.
That said, the moter in...
That's for sure! from where we are the ridge over (1 mile away) has lots of spots where the fire had reached. My sisters place had lost their carport and crews stopped the fire at the house. Certainly scary and surreal. Left in the middle of the night driving through thick smoke filled skies...
Hello all, just a brief update. About a month ago I wrote a lengthy post on my phone while evacuated from some of the local wildfires. (I accidentaly deleted it and was too tired to rewrite it on my cell) The M1010 was my shelter on and off for a good month. Thankyou to all that gave advice and...
Exactly, and post #12 is where I had all of my injector housings leak as I did not lap the mating surface....
I guess if everything is perfect then #50 can work tighter is tighter and also effects pop pressure(cant remember if I have verified this myself). On a 6.2na I wouldnt worry so much...
also, yes.... not worth tinkering with without making/buying a pop tester. Whether cleaning or replacing nozzles I will say that I have enough firsthand experience (pop testing a handfull of different sets of bosch and rebuilding with a chinese nozzle set and testing after 20k, the chinese...
I read up a little more on haydens coolers and there are some other interesting things I thought I would add.... they have a plate cooler that is about the same size as the b&m and they rated it between 10,000-23,500 btus compared to the 29,200 rating the b&m gives There are more plates on the...
I hate to be contrarian but the btu rating on the 1299 is (hayden provides a range, not a single number which to me would imply the B&M cooler is using the top range # for BTUs) but anyways, at the low end of the hayden btu rating it is still %20 better than the B&M (36,500 vs 29,299 btu) and if...
It was fun, just wish I could get out for longer but damn them responsibilities and bills.... anywho, I think that putting it back to a pull fan configuration might net potentially %10 better cooling vs flipping the blade and polarity to make it a push fan as I have done, I am confident that the...
So I made it back all in one piece... almost 1000 more miles on the odo bringing the vehicle just over 15k. So first thing to address is that having the fan spinning proper and not fighting the airflow things are MAYBE noticeably better by a tad but the problem of climbing grades for the 700r4...
Going to be getting out for 9 days of camping so I will let you all know what the verdict on the trans fan/cooler with proper direction do for my 700r4 temps.
Have a great weekend everyone!
hahah, at least yours is yellow and not YELLOW! Then again it makes it really easy to find in the big parking lots :) Really interested to see how this goes for you in terms of power and drivability over the 6.2. I had thought about this briefly but figured it was wayyy down the road for me to...
going faster than 50mph is nice aint it!? Anywho, hope you get your vibration sorted. Maybe try mounting a camerato record what is happening to the driveshaft/od/tcase at that moment to help sort out the problem, good luck!
I have had great success with permatex high temp thread sealant. Also the activator (pricey) applied to the threads before hand helps. I have heard similar feedback about the arp sealer.
Not sure why this did not pop up in my quest for switches.
Of course my trip was long enough that the place I ordered my first replacement (#14037986) which is ~$35 and a hard to find part in itself had been sent back asI was not back in town soon enough :/
I then looked up np208 switch on...
I hope it is my problem entirely, blade is now flipped and polarity is reversed and it now pushes air the proper direction. given the fact that there was some clearance between the cooler and radiator and the low speeds involved I am not entirely sure that I will be able to call this one done...
it looks exactly like the Derale kit as far as the fan goes. Probably a branding difference, I will have to review my item numbers as "speedco" does not turn up much on the net it is virtually identicle to Derale. The swapping of push/pull is per Derale's instruction pdf. I will dig into this a...
