Do you already have a torque converter and a flexplate? If so, do you have any spares?;-) I am also looking for the parts to install the 700R4 and transfer case I bought out of a gasser burban.
I flat towed my 1008 644 miles from Md to In and had no problems. But I towed a 3/4 ton chevy pickup without engine/tranny 8 miles and it was a nightmare! Without the engine/tranny in it the pickup wouldn't track worth a darn. Some are easy, some aren't. And it isn't always easy to tell which...
The manuals are available here on this site. just start at the CUCV section. And I agree about the towing. My 1008 looked like it had missed the dreaded GL forklift, but it hadn't! Needed a driveshaft AND an adapter between the tranny and T-case.:cry:
And expect the pickups to be SLOOOOOW! those...

I have a 700R4 with a 241 T-case and adapter out of a 'burb. But it is from a gasser and i need a converter and flexplate, plus the TV cable and parts.

Do you have a tach to see what rpms you are turning? What size are those tires? I am trying to get the parts all together to put a 700R4 in my 1008.
