Yeah the bracket for the chem detector right, but even so it'll draw air in and water will condense on the walls. I was erroneously told that the muffler had a desiccant in it, which it does not, but now I plan on adding one. The fluid swap is a good idea though, I did it. My valves were terrible.
I need to look at the TM again but I recalled it went through the bracket, but the bracket itself wasn't threaded. Isn't it the pivot or the tension? If two can go in from the ends and are threaded, great. I also am kind of figuring that an 8.8 would last a few hundred more miles.
I may take...
That's depressing about the bolt availability.
So I am not in front of the truck anymore but this is what I remember from looking at it. The L shaped bracket went with the alternator. The alternator still firmly seemed attached to the curved bracket. The long bolt and hardware is awol though...
Does anyone else think this thread would be better with... pictures?

expeditionnw - it snapped off flush with the engine. the bracket went with the alternator, leaving two bolts in. I usually reach for the PB...
$595 later towed in. The guys were super pros, dropped the drive shaft, the whole bit. My front trailer harness worked for the lights, they thought it was pretty cool how everything was on the front. Said it was like cheating. It's dropped off at "grumpy's" now, that's a promising sign right...
I know - I slept outside near Ely and woke up to it!
NDT - maybe. But the belts gone. or hanging. Either way. Does anyone know the bolt sizes. The mechanic is gonna ask.
Alternative, anyone think I could get a service truck out? If I knew the bolt sizes... all the guy has to do is back the bolts out of the block. Or I guess I could somehow get into town. Uber in baker city? It's 13 miles.
I am right at the interstate on an exit. uh. 317 on I84. I spent the night outside last night in -7 in nevada so I am fine on that front. My biggest challenge now is how to get it towed... do I call for a low boy or try to get the shafts off for a lift tow. I do have tools but I've not dropped...
Well this sucks. My alternator fell right off. Snapped the two bolts going into the engine and the big long bolt is nowhere to be seen. Going through the parts TMs right now to see what I have and don't have. Ugh what a mess. At least I brought a lot of warm clothes.
It dropped the belts of...
Resolved this today. I should mention before I get to the punch line that prior to failing to work the turn signal had been dim (the tail light was normal brightness and the turn bright was "weak" compared to the other composite lights). Also that I was leery about it being the stalk because the...
If you are non commercial, your vehicle has a valid on-road registration in its home state, and your carry insurance that meets the minimums of the state you are IN at the time, you are legal in all 50 states. Likewise, your drivers license confers you whatever privileges from your home state in...
What I would buy tomorrow is a dust proof enclosure of any manufacture with the military and dust-proof audio jacks (neutrick?) pre-wired to screw terminal or push headers. In other words a breakout box with room on the inside to put another board such of yours, or of different purpose. You have...
I just hate to read threads that suggest signal isolation and relays for PTT is somehow required, or that this cures the fact the intercom takes 24V. It is not required. Unfortunately there is a lot of this belief on the Internet. The prc68.com guy has his own interfaces which I'm sure you've...
The way I read it, ID was grandfathering trucks already registered in ID... A new FL title is not going to help that, since the transfer would be a new registration (in ID).
I don't quite follow. If by laws of physics you mean the gears, because I am pretty sure the guys with the FMTV hwy gears would say it's quite possible to tow one at interstate speeds with a M/V. Are you suggesting the manual is right and there is some reason not to, if you otherwise could?
