My hood is real cracked up and the subframe is falling out so anyway I found a good replacement hood for $20. Now I need to get some 686CARC to paint it to match the truck. I am not interested in the substitute stuff as it wont match the texture of the rest of the truck. Any ideas on where I can...
Ok, mine doesn't like to downshift on hills and really bogs before it does so I normally downshift it by hand. I dont like to push it to the floor much so that may be why it wont downshift. If it is loosing speed at 3/4 throttle I will just let it get below 35 and then drop it into 2nd by hand...
When is it supposed to send power to the solenoid? Mine will only do it if I stand on the throttle. If I just push it lightly to the floor it wont activate. At what point in the throttle position is it supposed to activate? Also where can I get a new one?
Ok well I will check the vdr valve. I know the intake always has a very small amount of oil in it. Like if you rub your finger in there is might have a little oil smuge on it. It has been doing this for months and I am finally getting around to investigating it. Does anyone think it is something...
Ya it is the stock mechanical one on the side of the block and may or may not have been replaced a year ago. The only change I did was blow out the fuel lines and install this big ol filter on it.
Oh and I forgot to mention that I did the TM lift pump tests and after 15 sec of cranking it builds 9psi(TM says a min of 5-6 psi) and pumps about 1Pint (TM says at least 1/2 Pint). When it is running the gauge jumps between 3-4 and 9PSI really rapidly, but the tm has no tests for when the...
When those go the pump soon follows, not because of the seal, but because the pump and that seal seem to always wear out together. Might start filling the piggy bank.
On my m1009 after I did a new high flow fuel filter (60GPH rated) it seems to have a haze of black/dark gray smoke when idling in gear but not when in neutral or park. Also has some smoke on any acceleration and when pulling hills. Is the smoke at idle ok or whats up?
As the temp has gotten warmer so have the temps on the truck. Currently it hovers around 180-190 and gets up to 200 on long hills or steep hills. I have read that 200 is max normal. Before it would never go over 190. Whats up? Bad thermostat? Coolant is topped off and fan seems to be working...
Just trying to gauge how my truck is power wise to other m1009's. Mine floored can say up with traffic till about 1/2 way through 1st and then can overtake them as it gets into the power band. Most hills of decent grade it can maintain speed and doesn't like to accellerate once it shifts into...
Well I ran a little seafoam helped smooth the idle a little, but it still doesn't have all its power. It seem that if it sits for a little it gets it back temporarily. When I left autozone after getting the seafoam it could almost peel out of the parking lot and then it went back to bogging by...
Just got the tranny rebuilt and some stuff done to the truck (new axles with 4.10 gears) and recently it seems like it is low on power. If I remember correctly when I would punch it from a stoplight before it would take off and you could feel yourself pushed back in the seat a little. Now when...
Recently had my th400 rebuild and have noticed that it doesn't seem to like to downshift. Most of the time it is happy, but sometimes when I am driving and coast down to say 30 and then traffic gets moving again it will still be in 3rd and bog. Also it started out in 2nd one time for some...
