I keep expecting to get stopped, especially when I'm pulling the trailer behind my Pinzgauer, but so far I haven't had it happen. The newer Border Patrol guys at the local checkpoint usually have questions and the regular civilians always gawk (in a nice way if you can gawk nicely) and when I'm...
Keep looking for the 710M. It is a very versatile machine. Check some of the Pinz sites, or sign up on them and you will be surprised how often they pop up because the owners need to get rid of them usually for reasons other than dissatisfaction with the truck. Good luck.
RE: Mag
When devilman gets a chance to come up for air and gets a kit together I want one. I'd have to clean out my tool box but I can add storage inside the bed if need be. It's not like I really need chanis 24/7 for all 4 tires here in SW Texas. Kudos to you and Devilman for a really neat...
Neat stuff! Just to be sure I understand; this system is to provide electricity to an extra 12 v battery in the Pinz, and will provide up to 30 amps of current for 12 v goodies. Am I right so far? What is the shield cable for in most of the pics that looks like it is coming out of the...
Jim, I expect your right and that's why I'm not running around in circles yelling OMG! But, if they get away with it the implications are enormous. Cheers, Andy
Apparently someone else got the letter from the state of Wisconsin and posted it on Real 4 X 4. Reading the posts there I don't get the feeling that there will be a lot of hate mail, but it sure looks like they will be getting support from around the country. This is some malo stuff, but it...
The guy that worte the original statement I saw claims his Pinz was registered there for 5 years. So, apparently it is not like it had never been titled. Further on either in Real 4 X 4 or the yahoo group is where someone else is claiming that the same edict was being used for an old...
Hope I'm not crying wolf, but over on some of the Pinzgauer boards there is a lot of chatter about Wisconsin having cancelled all titles to Pinzgauers and deeming them unfit for road use.
The last entry was from a fella that says this imperial edict has been extended to former military jeeps...
Re: RE: Re: RE: Border Patrol Deuce???
If it was NG or Reserve why would the unit ID's be blacked out? They do have NG troops here, but pobrecitos have to use their POVs to get around. Most of what is happening on the border is smoke and mirrors pony shows to make it look like something is...
RE: Re: RE: Border Patrol Deuce???
Sailor 2000, Nope, no logo yet. I've seen it along the highway and for the last couple of days it's been in the lot with the rest of the trucks. It is apparently a new addition and maybe they haven't gotten around to putting one of those ugly new decals on...
I have no idea what the M series designator is but they have a duece dump truck here in SW Texas. The only thing changed on it is that all military numbers have been painted over with black.
I'm no expert by any means, but have you considered to converters? Try www.OKoffroad.com because they offer the converters and apparently have experience with emergency vehicle wiring. Good luck.
JMO, this style can beats anything I have ever used that was manufactured here. It definitely beats the "new" plastic" ones that are supposedly safe for people in California to use. MadDawg thanks for the link.
Another source of parts and manuals would be www.swissarmyvehicles.com. They are in Fayettville, Arkansas and so far have been real good for me to do business with. Have fun with your truck.
RE: Must Read! Hurricane Katrina
Sarge, I know what you are going through. My son died in a senseless one car wreck in the jeep I bought him at age 25, back in 2001. Lots of regrets because I always believed my job as an agent was so important. I could have spent more time with him. Anyway...
Mike, I just sort of lurk here, but this too is a very smart bunch. There are tidbits here that will apply to the Pinz as well as the larger stuff they work with. The temptation to buy a duece is real strong here, but I think I want to hold out for a 712M. Later
