ARGH. Defintely going to have to rethink this one. Stupid lack of planning. Part I wanted to avoid was a tank full of HEAT in the truck. Now a refab with a tank under the vehicle is looking much more appealing.
After my tow experience.....I will NEVER do it again and NEVER recommend it to anyone . white knuckle the whole way and never once listened to the radio. Always too busy listening for ANYTHING to make a noise.
Cheapest and easiest way.....go pull a radio from a junker and install in the factory location. No CD player but get a factory radio in a factory location.
Yours does look good though.
I have a clicking noise that is not present at idle and is present under motion. Mine has a squeak assoaciated with it and is the spedo cable. I just need someone to inject some grease into the cable but have been too lazy to do so. Just another potential source
So I just wanted to post up a little experience of mine.
Firstly I have a M1009. Added a second tank (32 gallon) in the engine compartment. Then have converted my truck to run on the two tank system. I have run it on ATF, WMO and WVO. Have clogged off one filter running mainly a mix of 5...

Rider...Pics would be much appreciated. When you say you have to remove the hitch support bar, do you mean the Pintle hitch support bar? I have no pintle hitch but the bar that bolts between the lift shackles and the frame is still there. Is this the one that has to come off?

Bought it from a retired military guy who claims he bought it from a fire department that bought it directly from the military. I got it in Missouri. Under his spray paint camo job was green-yellow paint and could see fire and rescue on the side.
