Hey Speddmon, Great idea to put a grease fitting in the drain plug. I just put the grease gun in the fill hole and pump till it flows out . I will try that next time.
We used to do that way back when with the 55-57 chevys on the steering boxes. Could never keep the pitman shafts from leaking when they got a little play in them. I pump them up to the top to make sure everything gets lubed. On the GMC pillow block for the rear driveshaft, grease is the only...
I found the seal that I needed for the cover on the 3053 transmission. Memphis equipment had it. As a matter of fact, they had everything I needed to repair my tranny. Great place to shop but be prepaired to pay for it.
They are a blast to drive but when your done paying for one, it does not end there. I just put a grand into mine between a clutch setup and tranny parts. Mine was a nice truck when I got it and it has cost me plenty already!
After doing a search and coming up empty, does anyone have or know where I can buy a seal for the first-reverse rod in the cover of a 3053 transmission?

Apply the brakes till they wont release again. Then crack open the line coming out of the master cylinder. If the brakes release. it's not the airpack. If they release, then replace or rebuild the master cylinder. Make sure actuating rod on the master is adjusted correctly. If they don't...
I hear of people letting their MV's sit for months at a time. What I have found time and time again is the worse thing you can do is let a vehicle sit for a long period of time with out starting it or driving it. Try to start or drive it at least once a week. It keeps every thing rotated and...
Spent the day on Saturday at the show. WarrenD and I drove up. Met Carnac ,SrJeeper and Maddawg. Maddawg and SrJeeper did a great job on the Vietnam display. I think it was a big hit. Carnac hooked me up with a cargo cover for my other deuce. Got a transfer case boot from JTonka . Could have...
