If you have access use a flare nut crowsfoot wrench and put a small impact gun on it.
Or try pencil point heat on one side of the nut only.
Or use a chisel and hammer on the top corner of the nut, using a smaller hammer only.
Can you cut the line, take out the injector and use a deepwell...
If you can find the posts that were done on the single phase conversion of the MEP-004 then these 12 lead machines will be similar. All things being equal there will be a reduced rating KW and there will be a bunch of controls work needed to make the gages read correctly. If I was doing it I...
Hi GMG,
Three phase heaters are very common in the 10kw+ size. They are often used as spot heat for construction or temporary service. Youtube has a video of a New Hampshire guy 100% step loading a 003 with a typical 13.5kw three phase resistive heater. It does step load quite nicely. Any...
Heat around the housing. The plunger is extremely close tolerance to the barrel inside and it probably has varnish on it and the cam has pushed it up and the spring is not strong enough to break the varnish loose keeping it stuck. The lever causes the plunger to rotate which is how it meters...
Yes, most likely stuck IP. First try cranking it and manually push and pull on the control arm, it might free up. If not then try applying some heat in a controlled manner not too much in one spot but get it up to 140 - 150 or so. Boiling water might work. If no luck pull the pump and keep...
I do a battery tray conversion on all of the MEP-016B, MEP-016E, and MEP-701A's that I come across. The new battery tray takes (2) 12 volt lawn and garden batteries replacing the single 4HN 24 volt battery.
The existing 4HN 24 volt battery is expensive, and hard to get, or at least only a few...
Here are some pics of the finished battery tray conversion. I revised the design so that no drilling is needed. They drop right in place and bolt up. The 701A will require removal of the sound insulation inside the one panel. This is easily accomplished by drilling out the aluminum rivets...
Okay - Update:
I have finished fabrication of 12 battery tray assemblies and now need to paint them. I can do the Rapco CARC 686 Tan and the Rapco CARC 383 Green.
The weather is bad here for painting but as soon as possible I'll post up some pics of the finished and painted design. I made...
Flatdog,
Read your old post and saw you are missing the solenoid. There was one on E-Bay misadvertised as a an 016B solenoid. Search to see if it is still there. It has the black plastic slug on the end so it is unmistakable.
Here is a pic of an 016E Linkage. The block screwed on the end of the solenoid is a thick piece of plastic. Note the clip holding the stop lever down so the main lever goes back and forth with the solenoid but does not latch.
More info: The solenoid extension has a barrel nut on it and by...
I'll post a pic this weekend if you do not get one before then. From your text I'm thinking you have a 701A with the ASK panels that was partially converted to an 016E. Also, if you need any other help in completing it I might have some info. There is a tech manual for the conversion that...
Congrats on your purchase. If you got one of the low hour tan units from Warner Robins they are good units.
Open the control panel box and flip up the lid to find the K4 relay on the left side circuit board. The relays are numbered on the right side of the relay socket so you may need to get...
This has been a trial and error process and I am pretty happy with my 4th generation design. I will be making 12 trays and using 6 myself on this initial run. I have the materials all cut and drilled. I am currently making a weld fixture. I'm going to be away until Dec 27. Then I will be making...
The military must have a 50lb per person lift limit. It weighs under 300lbs total. 3 of us loaded it on to the back of a pickup truck with no issues. The 6 flip up handles are nice though. Its a little big in size considering how small the engine and generator are inside. But that makes it...
Yes that battery will fit as far as the base dimensions. Check the height. I have been using Autocraft U1 batteries, and I noticed die hard and other are very similar.
You are on your way! Keep at it. You seem to have good intuitiion and now that you know the unit runs you have confidence that the rest is just this annoying piddly stuff. I agree that using the priming pump and keeping it lubed up it should loosten up and stop sticking.
The oil cooler and...
