Nope, I passed it at 55 mph and I was working so I couldn't go back to get any. I will do some research and see if I can find one like it so someone can ID it.
Not sure if it's been mentioned here before or if anyone even knows about it but.......

It is sitting at a logging outfit near the road along with a bunch of items that also apear to be for...
Thanks to everyone who has chimed in. I am about ot start a new job earning about 3x what I was making. That will allow me to purchase a 5ton even faster than I thought. I will post pics when I have bought one. I think I may do a quad .50 or 20mm AA gun. What do ya'll think? I really want...
hole,.... please don't give them any ideas. I don't need their help to know I'm broke!!
colomil,...... Gotta love any truck that will burn anything flammable and don't need a battery to do it[thumbzup]
Another good source for 6.2 n/a ,6.5 n/a, and 6.5 turbo parts......or parts for an diesel really is Diesel Power Inc. Greenville, SC. Their phone # is 1-864-269-6800. I have had them do some work for me in the past. Prices are not too bad but the service is awesome.
There is a guy here in Greenwood who repaired radios while he was in the Army. He now works for the county repairing our tornado warning sirens. I'll stop in and see him and ask him if I can get his info to send to you. Maybe he can help.
Good Luck...
The whole "build it like I want it" is why I was considering building a non-existant truck. But I like the historical value of an authentic gun truck.......I don't know what to do yet........If I build a "real" one I want to be sure it's exact all the way through. If I build my own I can decide...
Not deep enough to be able to spend $14k on the mini guns alone. I belive it was the Maverick gun truck that carried 4 GE XM-134 mini guns as well as 2 M60's. I plan on picking up James Lyles book "The Hard Ride". I've heard it's a good source of information. I'm not sure I want to replicate an...
You know that is exactly what I told my wife when I first started talking about it. Her uncle was in "nam and He has to take meds so he can sleep. I understand it can be a touchy subject. If I choose a name that was used I will make it as accurate as humanly possible. I have a few names in mind...
Yeah, I should have been more specific:oops:. I only ment US gun trucks. Thanks for the info. Did they ever build something like a quad 20mm? You know ...somthing crazy.
What was the biggest gun put on a 'Nam Gun Truck? How many? I'm planing on buying a 5ton to build a Gun Truck out of and I want it to look like the biggest and baddest truck from 'nam. Thanks in advance for the help.
Absolutely jaw droppingly chilling!! To see those trucks riddled with bullet holes is a quick slap in the face to anyone who thinks freedom is free! Thanks for sharing that with us. Can you send some of those pics to me so I can print them or just tell me where I can find them?
Thanks,
James
Lonesome,
Are you the same Lonesome(7.3) on TDG? Anyway, thats a decent looking truck. Like the guys have already said...if the main (and most expensive) parts are solid it may be a good buy. Let us know if you need any parts. I'm sure someone can dig some up for you.
Just an Idea.... If you're not worried about it being "correct" as it was when in service then the answer is simple. Buy a wrecked 2001 and up Chevy or GMC with the Duramax Turbo Diesel and the Allison trans. Then you would have the Humvee that SHOULD have been built. I know it will fit...
