I as well would like to find some way of helping in a positive manner. I have done some research on this in the past and called senators, joined letter campaigns etc. it just seems so arbitrary over such a well thought out and respectful original statute from our elected officials. I know we...
that thing with the wide load sign looks like a trailer for an old movie. get it -------"movie trailer". Does this qualify for a dumb dad joke if I say " Luke this is my trailer"? How about if I say----if that is a full size replica of Darth Vader's ship then "may the Farce be with you"...
if you are still having trouble, you might slip the tie rod end back on the knuckle and loosely run the nut back on so it doesn't wiggle around. then put the pipe wrench on the tie rod itself some where near the middle. then use a floor jack on the end of the pipe wrench. that way you can use...
the ldt engine, lds as well, will likely leak oil from time to time from one place or another. it is not uncommon to have to replace a head gasket. like most things mechanical it will need some maintenance. it is definitely not a toyota engine. i've put 300,000 plus miles on more than one...
for what its worth, a lot of vehicles of the period had what most people would now consider a short lifespan compared to modern vehicles. on the other hand we definitely live in a throw away/replace entire systems world now. The deuce is what I consider reliable. things that break and or wear...
UH-1, mostly recycled from viet nam due to the looks of them. the crane truck was out of the casserne motor pool. standard army green. we did not have enough work to warrant one just for us. Permasens was the town name.
in my unit, in Germany, we used them to remove and install main rotors on helicopters. usually engines were done inside with an overhead crane. once used one to replace a tail boom. it took a pretty good operator and lots of hands on help.
interesting for a 71' to still be non turbo and exhaust under the cab with muffler. it looks like i has other upgrades like suspension seat. nice winch too. good save! please post pictures of paint. if its anything like your rocker repairs it will be great.
Love my thorlos. had them for I don't know how long. warmest chushiest feet gear I have . even works well hiking in summer. wick moisture. long wearing.
the bottle for the windshield washer fluid was mounted to the driver side drop down engine bay panel. a white plastic bottle. it had a rubber siphon tube that came through the firewall. usually through one of the same holes for the steering wheel shaft or similar near it. not sure how...
so...what about the VFD's, the colleges, the forest service, the police and other government agencies both state and federal that continue to operate these vehicles on road. how do we come to a place where the government can declare " do as I say not as I do". what happened to a government...
the five tons from the sixties had the air intake mounted on right front fender top. so having the elbow face that direction is probably why. if you can get a better picture of the data tag on the block it might confirm that it is actually an LDT or an LDS. I seem to recall the 5 tons had an...
this is a great time for you. most people rarely venture beyond what they have already known or done. Just take a picture before teardown, during and after. almost all of the parts will be very heavy so plan, prepare and leave time to walk away if you get frustrated. its going to be messy...
