Hi All,
Has anyone modified a typical diesel fuel can to have a connector on the top that can be connected to the aux fuel inlet? On my personal 803, I have a jerry can and a barrel adapter that I use, but the actual jerry cans and barrel adapters are costly and not common in the US (official...
Sorry... This is the trailer I picked up some time back (https://www.steelsoldiers.com/threads/hauling-or-towing-new-to-me-trailer.188086/post-2215593)
This came on a 10k powerplant, but I plan to have a 10k on one side and a 5k on the other. I took the platform off the trailer frame and am mounting it in my yard.
Hi all, I am hoping to use my generator sync/transfer box for 240v, if possible. Has anyone tried this so far? My powerplant came without the pigtail cables connecting the generators to the box, so I'm going to have to start a hunt for those if the box can be made to work...
This is good info, thanks. I am curious though, I thought the prevailing wisdom was to use DOT5 fluid? I might need to go flush mine out if that was a bad plan...
Hello All, I have a generator trailer that I am interested in converting to a 2-5/16" ball rather than the Lunette (?) ring for a pintle hitch. I have found a replacement slide that looks like what I am looking for (https://www.etrailer.com/Accessories-and-Parts/Titan/T4067700183.html), but it...
A huge thanks to Ray70, kloppk and Guyfang! It is astounding what a 1/2 counter-clockwise turn can do. This machine runs like a top now, thanks to your assistance. Thanks again (y)
This sounds like the likely culprit, and I found the governor adjustments, removal, installation on page 3-40, but I have not yet found a section about adjusting the droop. I'll keep looking for other manuals. Thanks for the pointer :)
It started doing it when the engine was up to temp, at 75% indicated load. After that, when started and already warm, it would start to behave the same with as little as 20% load. When the machine is first started, it runs fine, even if it's already warm. As soon as load is applied, the engine...
Good Evening All, I was working on a new-to-me 803, and I noticed the unit's engine speed varies with even a light load. The largest swing I saw was between 58.5hz and 61. The engine speed varies every 5 second or so, in a smooth, cyclical way. So far on this unit, I have changed the oil...
Hey there, did you ever find a connector that fit your rig and a pinout to go with it? I am in the process of figuring out if I can build a diagnostic display for my rig too.
I just wanted to reach out here and let you all know that I found a good washer to go on the outside... It is actually a bronze thrust bearing that my Ace Hardware has in stock in the misc metal parts aisle past the screws and such. The part number on the box was 58096-K, but the fellow couldn't...
That's what I found confusing... the units are both MEP-803a's on the trailer. What are the chances they were swapped out (considering the paint on the Gens does not match the trailer)? Not to say I would not like a pair of AMMPS.. that would be awesome.
OK, now that I have it home, let's share some pics...
So I was surprised to see that the deck on this thing is attached with pins, and can be lifted off. That makes me think twice about pad-mounting my 803, and instead, I am considering driving some pilings and just mounting the whole...
Hey there, Florida input here... I can tell you that the municipality is by far the most difficult to predict for what they want to see. In my city, the chief inspector is not an electrician but has clear ideas of what he figures is safe, based on what he's seen done in South FL. Therefore, on a...
