Earlier in the thread I mentioned I got mine from Kenway. Look and you'll find the model number and price. Can't remember off hand. I hear they have one for the M923A2 for $220 also. HE double hockey sticks the 2 belts included are worth $40!
The Red Dot instruction for the HMMWV said about 4lbs. Might be less if they counted using all the hose. I had just enough and had a few feet left of #12, 3 feet of #8 and just enough #6. I'll post pics of all the hoses on and clamped, dryer installed. All done but the electric! Can't wait, will...
I just did the upper search as the bottom looked separate. No big deal as you guys were nice enough to respond without the "Check the TM's boy". I have the TM's but if I know the answer I'm happy to save someone the time so they can get back to it. And I'm sure some of you feel the same way...
For some reason even searching dog bone or dogbone came up empty.Go to "advanced search",Search entire posts "keyword", search now. Try it and you'll see what I mean. Did the same with words in the title. It's happened before so I wont get butt hurt, am I missing something?
I did a search and could find nothing on this. I have a M923A2 that the torsion? bars separated from the rubber and is causing the axle to tilt so the u joints hit. Funny thing is they both came off (rubber seperated) on the front rear axle part. They are now hanging a bit below the attachment...
Mounting Compressor
Well it's Saturday and I actually was able to take advantage of the nice weather (108 deg) not to hot and a little breezy. Only had the Kenway directions blow away once! Wasn't to bad once I figured what they were referring to when mentioning loosen this or that. Actually...
Finished mounting the condensor!
Well after 50 ways of thinking about how to accommodate the angle of the mounting it's done. What I did was go to Lowe's and picked up some steel spacers 1/4"ID x 3/8" OD and 1" long. Some 2" 1/4" grade 8 bolts, washers, lock washers and nuts for the front (3...
You need to have the air intake (white filter) in the cab to recirculate the air. Other than that wherever it fits.
Note: I guess the air intake filter could be outside but you'd be sucking in outside hot air, kind of counter productive and you'd have to crack your windows. Go to page 202 and...
The Red Dot kit I used was "RD-2-4233-0" for the HMMWV old style with V belt but I see some "RD-2-4530-0" around which are for the M915 A/0 A/1 truck. The big deal is making sure it's V pulley if that's what you need. I suppose when this thread is done (Finally fully installed and running) your...
Mounting condensor
OK, I finally after a few evenings and beers after work walking around the truck figured out where I wanted the condensor. First off I though maybe the roof with the supplied Hmmwv truck brackets, nope it would interfere with a future MG ring mount. How about using the slant...
Harbor Freight has cheap air operated vacuum pumps $20 I think or less, and they pump it down just fine. I had a $400 pump that went south and really didn't want to spend the money to rebuild it. Remember on the air operated ones you need a fairly good compressor/air supply Got my gauges from...
Alright!!!! Kenway has shipped my brackets! Ran me $212.90 shipped. Part #16-CU-138 for the NCH250 non turbo motor. They have other brackets available but you will have to call them. Also there is about a 2-3 week lead time as they build them to order. Took apart my condensor last night and will...
Oh I'm sure that's possible! My kids (7) grew up knowing that when in the Suburban (Old 83 diesel, 6" lift on 35" tires) on our crappy road you do not let your head get near the side windows! Only took a few bad holes in the road for them to figure it out. Plus in the M923 I thought passengers...
Mounting the condensor, radiator or side box mount
I am trying to figure the condensor mounting. I see the guy I bought the units from now has the correct radiator mounted condensor for the M923(A2). I am leaning to mounting the condensor that came in the HMMWV kit for 2 reasons. It has 2...
Cab unit top brackets
OK the rod is wedging it up there for now. What can I use for the top brackets? Well I have the ones I unbolted from the top of the unit, holes in them. A little band saw work and I made 2 brackets from a piece of the units bracket. Into the vise and a couple of hits with...
