Since I did my oil change I have put 171mi and 9hrs on the engine (interestingly that puts my average speed at 19mph), and last time I checked the oil level it was about 2qts low. I do not have any obvious oil leaks, no puddles/stains when parked, no oil all over the engine, but I do have...
I don’t understand the high prices CUCVs seem to pull. In my area they tend to go for $4500-$7500 for ok shape (running with dings, dents, rust). It seems to me that you are basically buying a 30yr old GM pickup truck with:
-green paint
-brush guard
-24v electric system
-heavy duty power train...
I have a '71 w/w and as Recovery4x4 said I have the turbo spool up/down warning plate there. My heater switch is also in a different spot, under the dash to the left of the steering wheel.
It has been about a month, and I have used ~1/2 tank of fuel (truck does not get driven too much). I have been religiously checking the oil level after shutoff, and it is always right where it should be. If the LDT is making oil it is making it unnoticeably slow. I think that frank8003 is right...

Here is what happened:
-Did an oil change (first one under my...
Thanks CARNAC, too bad there was no manufacturer info. I did some sanding and was able to get some more bumper numbers: "28 1 109 FA" and "SV 39" as above. From the internet I assume this is the 1st battalion 109th field artillery of the PA ANG. I'm guessing that since this does not match the...
M35A2 w/w cargo truck:
a) VIN: 053911533
b) Reg: 04G47971
c) NSN: 2320000771617 (I think)
d) private sale in Oxford PA
e) SV-39
Very curious about year and manufacturer. Data plate was missing when I got it, but serial number on frame matched title. Title says it is a 1980 Jeep, but...
